Hollow Shell

13 1 1

Cracked reflection in the glass,

Empty eyes, a hollow shell,

Haunted by the shadows cast,

Of a love that couldn't dwell.

Whispers echo in the night,

Laughter lost, a fading dream,

Each ragged breath, a fading light,

Drowning in a silent scream.

Coffee cup dreams, still warm in my grip,

Your name on the mug, like a ship on the slip.

Always held tight but never dared to take flight,

The melody buzzed, just out of sight.

A single Sigh, a salty sting,

Scars that etch a painful lore,

A gentle release, a whisper unknown,

The sky fades soft, leaving me on my own.
