"We ain't all lookin' for love..."

In the night, the wind blows outside as Giselle looks outward. The trees whistle. The tumbleweeds rotate. She put her arms around herself for comfort. It seemed as if a big responsibility was put on her shoulders. Taking care of a young girl who didn't have a destination to head to.

What happened to her was a mystery. Even to Giselle. She found her in the aftermath, hanging for dear life by her horse. Unconscious while the horse walked. Horse prints went far for miles and miles stopping near Giselle's ranch. Then, both of them collapsed.

Giselle heard the struggling breaths of Honey. Onika's pulse was faint but it was there. Blood scattered everywhere and leaked from portions Giselle couldn't even say. It was heartbreaking to see a young woman like this. Especially one that reminded her too much of her friend.

May her soul rest.

Giselle released a heavy sigh as she put down the window and adjusted the curtains. When she turned, she saw Onika. Leaning onto the rail with a disturbed face. She tried to hide it but Giselle could tell she was still in pain.

"What're you doin' up, darlin'?" Onika shrugged at her question. In reality, the body that was rested against her was the only reason she could sleep. Giselle gripped her hand, steadying her so she didn't fall.

"Couldn't sleep." Onika looked into Giselle's eyes trying to find something. Anything that gave her a clue about what she was thinking.

"Want me to make ya some tea? Might help you sleep." Onika tried to keep her balance but couldn't. She fell into the grip of Giselle, looking up at her with a worried expression. "C'mon, darlin'. It's okay." Giselle lifted her, carrying her bridal style into the living room and placing her down gently. "Watch those feet."

"Sorry, Ma'am."

"That's alright, sweetheart."

Giselle meant every word she said. It was alright that the woman was in her home. Barely able to walk down the stairs. She had some courage, fighting through the pain. When Giselle left her to go get the tea, she looked at all the photos on Giselle's walls. One particular photo caught her eye.

Giselle was dressed in her usual attire, a white t-shirt and denim jeans. Her brown hat supported her head. She stood alongside a man throwing up a sign she didn't know of. They looked friendly but the bottom of the picture said, "Just Married". Onika twisted her face in confusion, adjusting herself so she no longer had to look at the picture. It made her insides turn knowing that this was the man she married.
