Going on that camping trip with the girls was something that was very much needed. It was amazing to get away from the stress and responsibilities that were waiting for me back in the city. Having Nathan there with me for his birthday was an added bonus that I didn't take for granted.

Even though Nathan and I were on strict rules from Lanie not to have sex until we got back home, I still got to sleep in the comfort of his arms in my tent. I knew Nathan was understanding, but a small part of me was worried that he would be irritated since we couldn't have sex. After all, everyone in the city probably knew that he had a high sex drive given how many girls he's been with, but that wasn't the case tonight.

As I laid against his chest, I expected him to run his hand up my dress or kiss me until I was all blissed out and lost to him. But none of that happened. Okay...there was some kissing, but not the deep passionate kisses that had my brain checking out and my body becoming puddy.

Instead of seducing me, we did something else that nearly shattered my heart into a million pieces. As we laid there in the dark quiet silence of the campsite, Nathan started talking about the details of applying to college. I still couldn't believe that he actually was going to go to school.

Nathan stroked my hair while he explained to me that once he made the decision to actually apply, he realized that he was actually looking forward to going to college. Apparently it wasn't only a shock to me, but a shock to himself. He talked about how he started looking at different schools and started thinking about what it would be like if he and I went to the same college.

He went into detail about how we would spend our days sneaking kisses between classes and sharing lunch together every day. "Just like we do now," he said to me. He talked about how nothing would change and how for the first time in his life, he thought about the endless possibilities of what he could do as far as work. Before deciding to take the college route, he was so sure that he was just going to work in his father's shop and become a mechanic. But now he knew just like I did that he could do so much more with his life.

Seeing the person that he was becoming and remembering who he was before made me so unbelievably proud of him. When he asked me how I felt about going to school together and all of that, it was hard for me to answer. Of course I wanted exactly what he wanted. Every single bit of it. So that was what I told him. And I really hoped and prayed that this dream would become a reality.

When we pulled up into my driveway, Nathan asked me if I wanted to come over later and see him. Of course my answer was yes. I knew he was craving some alone time with me just as much as I was craving some with him.

Thankfully my parents weren't home yet. If we saw either of their cars in the driveway, Nathan would have had to drop me off at the end of the street. If by chance my parents saw him drop me off, they would immediately know that he crashed our girls camping weekend.

Stepping through my front door, I dropped my duffel bag on the floor before kicking off my sneakers. Even though I knew no one was home, the house was eerily silent as I walked through the foyer and into the kitchen. Considering I hadn't eaten since lunch time, I was starving. Nathan offered multiple times to stop so we could get something to eat, but I just wasn't feeling it.
