"His situation is, in a way, like yours. Our school isn't much different than yours. In True Cross, in the files Satan would be your most powerful demon and every Exorcists need to be on the look out and on guard. For us, we have different types of Demons, we call them Cursed spirits are rather just Curses to be simple. For us, we have a power Curse known as Ryomen Sukuna. Like Satan being the king of hell, Sukuna would be the King of curses" Gojo said.
"Is Sukuna Itadori's father?"
"Haha, he isn't"
"Oh, just thought since you said my situation wasn't that different than mine" Rin said, mumbling.
"Sukuna isn't Itadori's father, rather, Itadori is hosting Sukuna within his body" Gojo said.
Rin was surprised, he didn't know how to respond to that.
"During a battle with a curse, that's where I met Itadori, that Curse was after one Sukuna's fingers, when a Curse gets a hold of said fingers, their Cursed abilities increase, making them more powerful than they were before." Gojo said.
Rin nodded, even tho Gojo couldn't see.
"Itadori made good sure that the Curse wouldn't get that finger, although even thinking it was bad enough suicide."
"What did he do?" Rin asked.
"He ate it right in front of Megumi, me, and that Curse." Gojo said, smiling at the memory.
Rin didn't know if he should be disgusted or surprised.
"How did that go?" Rin asked.
"Sukuna ended up taking over, beat the curse, and Itadori took back control. Even tho Sukuna is powerful, that time it seemed like he was under Itadori's control" Gojo said.
"I see... "
"And how he's like you and how you're like him. You have this trial right?"
Rin's eyes widened.
"You have three months left until that trial, in a sense, that's three months left to live. For Itadori, he has until he consumed all 20 of Sukuna's fingers, since he's so far the only human who has not died eating Sukuna's fingers."
Rin was surprised. So all this time, when Itadori was sticking by Rin, it was because his unconscious mind knew Rin was like Itadori?
"Give Itadori some slack when he asks questions like that and doesn't know, he knows he doesn't have much left to live considering we're finding the fingers left and right nowadays. He's getting anxious" Gojo said.
"...You're his teacher... Does it not... Somewhat bother you that he's like 17 and he has this burden on him?"
"Yes, I'd rather it be an Elder, they'd lived their lives already, say why not use the rest of it to ensure the safety of the world?" Gojo asked.
"Itadori..." Gojo continued once more "When I became a teacher, I wanted to not get close to the students, being a Jujutsu Sorcerer is just as dangerous as training to be an Exorcist. These kids... I've grown a bit attached. They relate to me, I in a way relate to them, they match my energy, and they're in awe whenever I'm in action. I know it's selfish, but I see them as my own in a way" He said.
"If anything, I'd rather them all quit trying to be a Jujutsu Sorcerer and be a normal person so they won't have to fight everyday just to live to see another say." He said.
"But you can't do anything about it?" Rin asked.
"Yep, most I can do is train them even harder so when they graduate, saying if Itadori hadn't eaten all 20 fingers, they could protect themselves and be just as strong as me" He said.
It was a little while within the silence from both Gojo and Rin before Rid had opened the door. Gojo still sat on the ground, his back to him, Gojo turned and looked up as Rin held the door open standing.
"You're a good teacher, I'll give you that. Even if you can't do anything, you make sure that they'll be safe. Even if it's unavoidable for Itadori" Rin said.
Gojo stood up and smiled "I try my best"
Rin looked to Gojo, a dull look in Rin's eyes, but a small glimmer of something unknown was there.
"You're hurt Rin, from everyone and what's happening to you, even your own brother isn't giving you the comfort and support you need during your tough time" He patted Rin's head, and ruffled it up a small bit.
"If you need anything, someone to talk to your for someone to listen, a shoulder to cry one for just to sit in silence with. You can call me up any time, or Itadori say as both of your situations are indeed similar" He said.
Rin looked down at the floor in front of his feet, Rin felt something he hadn't in a while. Gojo had comforted him, gave him the comfort he desperately needed. He hadn't felt this comforted since Shiro had comforted Rin after he accidentally broke his ribs as a child.
Tears welled up in Rin's eyes, and he couldn't help but slowly walk to Gojo, his head still down. Gojo smiled softly, knowing what was coming. Rin rested his head on Gojo's chest, Rin still looking down.
"Thank you Gojo... I.. I really needed this..." Rin said.
Gojo placed one hand on Rin's head and the other hand on his upper back.
"I know you did, I know. Trust me" Gojo said.
Rin began to tremble and shake. He slowly wrapped his arms around Gojo and hugged him tightly. Rin tried to hold back tears, but Gojo comforted further, saying if he needed to cry, he could, and that it wasn't good to hold it back.
"Let it out Rin, I'm here" Gojo said.
"I've got you now" Gojo said warmly.
Rin shook even more and cried, holding onto Gojo tightly as Rin cried out his pain.
The pain of losing Shiro...
The pain of his own younger twin blaming him for something that was out of Rin's control...
The pain of being watched intensely like a wild beast...
The pain of losing his friends...
The pain of losing his life...
The pain....Of being alone...
The pain of the lack of comfort...
But now....
He was finally feeling the relief of being held and comforted.
Gojo at this moment didn't see a teenager, he didn't see the son of Satan. What he saw...
Was a boy who needed to be heard, to be held and told that someone got him and that it was okay to cry...
Gojo held him and hugged him, giving the boy the comfort he was long overdue for... Gojo just wanted to take Rin and his students and hide them from the cruel world. But that was out of his reach to do so. The most he could do, was hold them close and train them the best he can so his students could have a chance to survive, and hold his broken demon and tell him he's not a monster.
Gojo knows what monsters are, and Rin would be considered an Angel compared to them
