A voice rang out suddenly, cutting through the tension like a knife through butter. "I am protecting him," it declared with a hint of defiance.

Selena and I both turned to see Vegas standing there, his smirk firmly in place as he met Selena's gaze with an air of confidence. His unexpected appearance sent a jolt of surprise through me, and I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope ignite within me.

You should know better—or are your powers turning weak that you need others for your benefit, Selena?"
