As I and Vegas journeyed towards our destination, I couldn't help but voice my concern about our pace. "Vegas, what are you doing? We need to walk faster if we're going to reach there in a reasonable amount of time," I urged, my grip tight on a nearby tree as I tried to assert myself as a guide.

Vegas merely scoffed at my attempt to take charge. "If I take your guidance, we might as well expect to be wandering for three months," Vegas retorted dismissively, his strides purposeful as he closed the distance between them.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confusion knitting my brows as Vegas approached, leaving me feeling trapped between the advancing demon and the sturdy tree.

"Pete, are you truly this dense?" Vegas chided, his tone laced with frustration. "We've been walking in circles for hours. You don't even remember the address, do you?"

My eyes widened in realization as Vegas's words sank in. I had been so focused on keeping up appearances as a guide that I had failed to recognize their lack of progress.
Trapped between Vegas and the tree, I could only curse my own foolishness as I struggled to come to terms with the truth.

As I mumbled to myself, trying to make sense of our seemingly futile journey, I felt a sudden tightness around my wrist. Before I could even react, Vegas's firm grip pulled me into a whirlwind of motion, and the world blurred around us.

In the blink of an eye, we stood in front of our destination, my senses reeling from the abrupt transition. My heart raced, and a startled cry escaped my lips as I struggled to comprehend what had just occurred.

Vegas's smirk only deepened at my bewildered state, his smugness evident as he surveyed my stunned expression.
I staggered backward, trying to steady myself as I gazed at the imposing structure before us. Despite my shock, a flicker of realization dawned within me – Vegas's powers were far greater than I had ever imagined.

As Pete's smile illuminated his face, I found myself momentarily captivated by the genuine warmth radiating from him. It was a rare sight, one that softened the edges of my demon heart for just a fleeting moment.

But as Pete began to run towards the field, my instincts kicked in, and I couldn't help but call out to him, my voice tinged with concern. "Hey, where are you running off to? Didn't you say it's hard to get those flowers? What if there's something dangerous there?"

Pete halted in his tracks, turning to face me with a look of confusion etched across his features. His dumbfounded expression only served to irritate me further.

"What?" he exclaimed, his voice laced with incredulity as he awaited my explanation.

I scoffed at his question, annoyance bubbling up within me. "Never mind," I muttered dismissively, my pride refusing to admit my momentary lapse in composure. "Just be careful, alright?"

Despite my attempt to brush off the concern, a part of me couldn't shake the nagging worry that lingered in the back of my mind. After all, Pete may be foolish at times, but he was still my foolish little witch, and I couldn't afford to let any harm befall him – not when our fates were bound together in such a precarious alliance.

As I hurried towards the field where the elusive flowers awaited, a sense of anticipation surged within me. But before I could reach my destination, a dark shadow emerged from the depths of the field, its form twisting and contorting as it advanced towards him.

Fear gripped my heart as I realized the danger looming before me. Without hesitation, I turned and sprinted back towards where Vegas stood, my instincts driving me towards the only source of protection I had.
