(Gon POV - the past)

I sit there on a tree branch, watching over the moonlight over the horizon but all you can see is the ocean. I miss everyone. It's been 4 months. I didn't go back to whale island and I don't know what to do. Ging left me again. He thought I was useless as I couldn't use nen anymore. He thought I was weak and couldn't defend myself and I will keep on doing stupid things over and over again. When I told him about how I lost my nen, I made a contract and I said I will sacrifice everything...

"I don't care If this is the end."
"So, I'll use everything."

I didn't know that would impact my life so bad. Why did I push everything and everyone aside? Why did I push Killua aside? Was it all worth it?
I didn't have to sacrifice everything like that. I could have asked Killua and the others for help none of this would have happened. I am so selfish.

I put my hand towards my face and use my fingers to feel it and I realise... am I crying? Why can't I stop the tears

God dammit, I'm still stupid
I start laughing uncontrollably. I close my eyes sitting and admiring the breeze, I open my eyes and what? The moon is gone. The sky is red. The world is stained in red. I jump off the tree to come closer to the edge so I can see over. Everything is distorted and lurid. Before I know it something grabs me and I pass out.

I open my eyes and I'm in a different place... it's so windy here.. there is a bunch of seals in the area and I'm laying in the middle of a massive... blue seal and there is a couple more below me I think. What happened? How long has it been? I feel so dizzy, is it safe to lay here? Looking at the sky I can say it's somewhere midday currently. I look around and I see someone approaching me. They have a whole green outfit, a cape and a hat.. it looks like a beanie a little

"Hey! Are you okay?" The person calls out to me, somehow I actually understand what they are saying... this place does not look like earth. "Where am I?" I respond in a weak tone, confused and he looks at me, "you don't know? Your in storm terrors lair... though you don't look like a mondstadt citizen, where are you from?" He kneels down in front of me, he seems really friendly though "I—- is this... what world is this?" I asked panicked, this cannot be.. "Teyvat. Why?" He responds "WHAT." I yell taking him aback "WHERE IS EARTH?!" I grab his arms and start shaking him "HEY-! Calm down!" He pushes me off "so do you mean you're not from teyvat?" He questions and I nod my my head.. "so your a descender then?"

"A what?" I raise my eyebrow in complete confusion "a descender is a person or creature who isn't from teyvat, this is so cool to see! I thought I would only ever see one" he says "you mean you met another one?" I ask Curious.

"Yeah, it was a while ago, a few years ago, we are great friends though, but they left some time ago due to searching through teyvat to find their sibling.. quite a shame as I almost never see them now" he sighs and then looks at me

"By the way, what's your name?" He asks me "Gon, Gon freecss" I respond and he smiles "what a nice name, Anyway! I am Venti! Venti the bard!" He giggles "your a bard?" I ask "not only a bard, but the mondstadts best musician too! I won the title 'Most Popular Bard of Mondstadt' three times" he declares while giving me a grin "how old even are you? You look around my age.. are you perhaps 15?" I inquire and he lets out a laugh "15? Damn, I'm actually 2600" he responds so calm it put me off guard "WHAT?! ... so I'm basically a fetus compared to you, I'm 14" I whine

He giggles at my complaint "don't worry, I'll help you, I can tutor you if you want to, think of me as a guide, Gon, what do you think? We could travel together" he reaches his hand out to me waiting for me to respond to his offer I take his hand and I nod my head "sure" I accept and he smiles "Great! Come with me, I'll teach you the basics of this world and everything!" He helps me up and I laugh. I wonder what this world will bring me though. Maybe I can escape reality for once. Away from earth. I smile and I sigh with relief "so where do we go?" I ask and he turns to me "well you woke up here, storm terrors lair, I find it strange that you woke up right in the middle of the seal, over here a few years ago there was a battle, it was a portal sort of? It was a confrontation with us between a dragon people call storm terror, though his real name is Dvalin. I'm really glad he's free now, for many years we was kept under a curse by the abyss, if you don't know what that is it is basically the Abyss Order lives in the Void Realm, and operates nearly silently in the shadows. and they used to be humans, now cursed by the gods, and they wish to bring back Khaenri'ah. The descender i spoke about, their sibling supposedly sits at the head of it all, though being named 'Princess' does imply a Queen of the Abyss." Venti explains, it was a lot of information for me but i managed it to take it in this time "is that so... I understand" I nod my head, Venti smiles at me "let's go now, okay?" He says while standing up "this place is dangerous, especially if one does not posses any elements. Follow me" he adds on and I say 'okay'.

Venti finds a way to get out, there is a small path yet it is kind of destroyed so we had to jump through some of it otherwise it would be a fall. After some more running we reach to this one really massive bridge, which connects the lair to the other side of the area. Everything is so massive here, seriously. We run through the bridge as venti guides me, he comes more next to me as if he's going to ask something "Gon, do you possess any kinds of abilities? Because you are an outsider, how did you end up here?" He asked about my abilities... my privilege to use nen is gone so... "I was able to... back in my world, earth. Everyone shared an ability named nen, anyone could learn how to use it as long as you knew how to activate it. I learnt it for around 2 years with my best friend Killua, i havent seen him in a while now, its been around 4 months nearly 5. I was able to use nen, but i did something stupid, this creature named a 'chimera ant' its basically a mutated ant half human, and then mutated with another creature, like a cat modified with a chimera, they learnt how to use nen and one killed this person important to me, he was taught by my father, though my father abandoned me. Pitou was the name of the one who killed him. some time later i lost myself and i sacrificed everything. i transformed and i killed pitou. i made a contract which made me equal strength to the king of the ants, meruem. during the end of the fight Killua found me. It was too late and all he could do is yell my name. I could hear the misery in his voice, Then thats when i went into a coma. when i was unconscious i often would receive dreams, which i would get chased around by people i know, but they were faceless and distorted giving the uncanny feeling, you know? often telling me how horrible i am and i would never be forgiven. reality felt so destroyed. I dealt with it for a week, though the dreams felt like it was a endless torture of karma for one thousand years. Killua helped his sister escape the Zoldyck mansion, Killua Zoldyck is a dude obviously, white fluffy hair, my age and height, and has blue eyes and is an ex assassin, the rest of his family are assassins too. Killua was the heir to the Zoldyck family but he didnt want to kill anyone anymore so he ran away multiple times until his father gave in and let him go and he ended up travelling with me." I sigh after explaining until i continue, Venti still listening in carefully "How i got here though.. I dont know. I dont know how long its been either, I dont know anything. I dont understand how i got here, I was sitting on a tree, crying. I blinked and it went all red, the moon was gone and it felt so eerie, distorted. as if the world was stained in red, I went off the branch to go see what was going on and something massive grabbed me from behind and it went all black, and then i woke here. I felt light headed when i woke, i remembered nothing untill a few moments later." I finish explaining to Venti and he looks at me "Gon... were you perhaps hallucinating with the distortion?" Venti asks and "I dont know. It felt really real." i respond and i turn my head to look forward and Venti says "Oh look, we almost have reached Windrise"

Windrise? I look confused until i notice the extremely massive tree and theres some sort of statue there? we keep going until we reach the small steps to approach it, I carefully look at the statue and it looks like him a little "Venti... Is that figure on there.. You?" I ask and he nods "Yes it indeed is! that is me, but its in my Archon form. Barbatos" he says "Barstobas?- wait no bartobas?-- .... Barb." I struggle saying the name so ill just stick to calling it Barb from now on. "BARB?! GON- BARB- A-TOS!" Venti repeats himself a little embarrassed and i shake my head putting my hand infront of him. "Barb. Your Barb" i cross my arms feeling proud
