Folding away the last of my dry clothes, I stuffed them in my drawer before closing it and let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in.
I'm tired. I've been on my feet since waking up.
"Andre, yuh out here and smell the rice a burn and nuh mek nuh effort fi look!" I hear my mom yell.
"Mi nose stuff up" was all I heard before hearing the sound of the grill opening.

Hearing footsteps approaching my room, my mom popped up shortly after.

"When yuh ready fi eat, the food is in the kitchen" she tells me before walking further down to her bedroom.

I took my laptop, sat down on the floor in front of my bed, and sent in some files to Andrea, that she had provided and told me to get it completed and sent in back to her. I shut off my laptop, got up from the ground, put it on my bed, and grabbed my phone.

Chuckling at my cousin's messages, I opened WhatsApp and instantly called her.
She picked up on the third ring and as soon as it connected she started talking.
