Three Men and A Baby

"It will get better, I promise. You just have to take baby steps, like you are doing today. I am so proud of you baby." He kissed her on the lips softly before looking at her dead in the eyes. "Now, go and get your shoes and coat on before Britt has my head for keeping you all to myself."

Taylor laughed, passing the sleeping baby over to Travis gently.

"Bye bye baby, mommy will be back soon ok. Be good for daddy." She whispered into the babies head, kissing her softly before exiting the bedroom to grab her coat and handbag from the front door. She stopped at the front door, waiting for Travis to come rushing down to come and get her. But he didn't, and she knew deep down that it was for the best. Travis was her dad, and he would be perfectly fine and capable of looking after their daughter for a couple of hours. Just as predicted, Brittany was waiting for her in her car in the driveway. She came round to the passenger side, opening the door and sliding in.

"Seriously girl, I thought he was never going to let you go." Brittany joked, backing out of the driveway and onto the road.

"Haha, well it wasn't all Travis. I was feeling nervous too." Taylor smiled, looking down at her hands and the fingers that so desperately needed a good manicure and polish.

"Oh I totally understand how you feel Tay. The first time I left both Sterling and Bronze for a while broke me. I wanted to turn back and rush home to them so many times."

"Thats what I want to do right now!" Taylor mumbled but Brittany could still hear her.

"No can do I am afraid. The child locks are on and you are officially stuck with me fro the next four hours or so!" They both laughed at this, turning up the radio to listen to the first adult music either of them had probably heard in a long time. The pair of them had left the kids at home and were on their way to have a girls day out, Taylor's first since having Luna. Sure they had gone out for dinner in Philadelphia earlier that month, but they had only been down the road, leaving luna with her grandparents, aunt and uncle for at most ninety minutes before returning home. This would be a while longer. They had plans to go to the salon and get their nails done for some much needed pampering before heading to brunch for some food afterwards.

"Well, this is very relaxing. Thank you for convincing me to do this Britt, it is exactly what I needed." Taylor sighed, relaxing into the chair as her feet were massaged and painted a beautiful baby blue shade for summer.

"I know what you mean. I wonder how Trav is getting on being at home alone?" Brittany asked, not opening her eyes.

Back at their home in Kansas City, Travis was settling in for a day of solo parenting. Taylor had left some bottles in the fridge that she had expressed the night before for if Luna gets hungry. The main task of the day was to record the podcast with Jason. Even though they weren't in the football season just yet, they still would film the podcast weekly, inviting guests onto the show and making special episodes. That week they were recording a special podcast dedicated to Tight End University, interviewing both of the other tight ends from the program to discuss what it actually is and some funny stories from previous years they had hosted it.

"Right girlie, it's time to film so you need to be extra good and quiet today." He whispered to her, patting her back slightly as he placed her over his shoulder. He sat in front of the multiple monitors in his office, placing the headphones onto his head as he saw his brother's face appear on the screen.

"Hey Jase." Travis said, smiling as he saw his brother set up his space.

"Hey Trav, daddy duties today?" Jason joked, hinting to the baby currently falling asleep in Travis arms. He nodded.

"Yep, Tay is out with Brittany for a ladies day so it's just Daddy and Luna today." Travis chuckled, praying silently that Luna would stay asleep for the whole segment, or at least most of it.
