Kim Minji's POV

As I sat in front of the ornate mirror, the soft hands of a servant worked meticulously to style my hair. I watched my reflection, noting the absence of the servant's reflection beside mine. It was a stark reminder of her true nature—a vampire, bound in servitude to Taehyung's estate.

Taehyung. The man who had shattered my world and turned my life upside down. The man who had taken everything from me, yet paradoxically had become my guardian and protector. He was the reason we now resided in Eclipsia, a realm inhabited by various supernatural beings, where humans were a rarity and held no power. Despite the pain and loss he had caused, Taehyung had taken us in as his own, treating us as his daughters. In the eyes of Eclipsian customs, we were the offspring of his late wife, and therefore, his responsibility.

Taehyung served as the grand general to the King, often away on royal duties and military campaigns. Yet, even in his absence, we were well cared for, treated with kindness and respect.

I couldn't deny the conflicting emotions that swirled within me. Despite the betrayal and heartache, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Taehyung. He had provided us with a home, an education, and had even personally instructed us in the art of combat.

And despite myself, despite the darkness that lingered in his past I found myself growing to love him. In the midst of turmoil and uncertainty, Taehyung had become a pillar of stability in my life—a beacon of light in the darkness of Eclipsia.

After the servant had finished preparing me for the court of Eclipsia, she took her leave, leaving me feeling both anxious and eager for the upcoming event. Stepping out of my room, I encountered Danielle emerging from hers.

"Your hair looks lovely," Danielle remarked with a wide smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement. I couldn't help but return her smile, grateful for her simple gesture of kindness. "Let's go," she urged, and together we made our way downstairs.
