Lucy's POV
My knees buckled from under me and before i knew it, i couldn't breathe and was in the ground as the song played in the background. Tim rushed towards me and i buried my head in his chest. I couldn't breathe at all, tears kept on streaming down my face, and the song still played continuously in the background. Tim shouted at them to turn it down but they didn't listen
Tim: Hey luce, it's ok i'm right here ok? Hey, your panicking ok, your going to start having a panic attack so I need you to breathe for me ok?
I tried to say i can't breathe but no words came out. I was making a fool of myself but i didn't care, it was out of my control. I was sobbing into his chest hysterically and not being able to breathe.
Tim: Give me one minute ok Luce?
I nodded my head yes because it was too hard to talk Tim picked up his radio and began to talk
Tim: Dispatch this is 7-Adam-19 requesting back up at our location for. noise complaint, officer down, no RA needed and no weapons known of at the location
Tim: ok Lucy, when they get here i don't want you to be overwhelmed why don't we bring you to the shop ok?
He gently lifted me up and as we walked to the car i kept my face buried in his arms He opened the back door and sat down next to me and rubbed my back as he had done at the DA's office
Tim: Hey, it's ok, you're safe, Caleb is dead. You have nothing to worry about.
He continued to rub my back as i continued to cry
Tim: shhh, it's ok you have nothing to afraid of
I finally got to the point where we tried box breathing and I calmed down
Tim: you ok now Lucy?
Lucy: Y-yeah t-thanks Tim
Tim: of course hey why don't we drive back to the station ok?
Lucy: o-ok
Tim drive me to the station after we both moved to the front seats of the shop. Backup arrived and got them to lower the volume and the one playing the music was charged with a felony because he didn't listen to the law. The ride back was quiet but Tim kept looking at me concerned. Tears still rolled down my face but I'm fine.. i think
Tim's POV
I feel so bad for her, i don't know what to do and how to help. I don't know what she wants me to do or how I can be there for her because of the whole "i'm her boss" thing. I just don't want her to feel uncomfortable. I felt so bad for her as I saw her still crying on the way back to the station. At the station we climbed out of the shop and gave the war bags back as I was going to ask Grey if we could work the front desk the rest of our shifts.
Grey: Hey Tim, heard you needed to talk to me?
Tim: Yeah, Lucy had a bit of a panic attack because of a call, something related to the barrel and Caleb and Rosalind.
Grey: Is she ok now?
Tim: Yeah but I was wondering if we could work the front desk the rest of the shift just so you know, she's not out on patrol after a panic attack
Grey: Of course, and hey, keep me updated
Tim: thanks sarge, I will
I walked to Lucy who was by the war bags and I told her we were working the front desk. We hung our body cans up because the front desk has security cameras and headed to the desk. awe only had an hour left of the shift as it was already dark out before Lucy even had her panic attack. I sat down on the left and pulled her chair out for her on the right. We sat closer than usual at the desk but I really just wanted to be close to her incase she needed anything at all.
Lucy's POV
I finally stopped crying at the desk when Angela walked in.
Angela: What are you two doing over here and not on patrol? You piss Grey off?
Tim: No
Lucy: no..
Angela: Why are you so quiet? Did something happen? I heard an officer down call over the radio and it was Tim's voice, you ok Lucy?
Lucy: Yeah just tired that's all
Angela: ok but that doesn't explain the officer down part...
Lucy: I-i uh
Tim: She just had a moment, I mean we all do right?
When Tim said that I could tell he was trying to hint to Angela to leave me alone. I felt bad though, she did nothing wrong
Angela: Right, of course see you guys later
Tim: Bye Angela
Lucy: by officer Lopez
It was silent after that and we continued doing paper work we needed to catch up on in between the occasional person at the front desk. It wasn't awkward though, it was actually nice between us.
Tim: You hungry boot?
Lucy: a little yeah
Tim: Shift is almost done, why don't we grab something to eat before heading home
Lucy: uh, sure yeah
Tim: Ok, let me know what you want
Lucy: i don't know, you pick
Tim: no really think about it and let me know
Lucy: Tim i'm really not good at decisions please just pick, i can't... please
Tim: Sure, are you sure you're ok? You seem a bit anxious
Lucy: i-i'm fine just tired like I told Lopez
Tim: ok...
I can't make decision, it stresses me out too much. I know it's part of the job and i can make job related questions where I know the right and wrong answer but questions like that, they feel like a test. I know it wasn't but recently I just can't anymore...
Tim: Hey shifts over let's clock out
Lucy: ok..
Tim: I'm sorry if i'm being annoying but are you 100% positive you're ok?
Lucy: your fine i'm probably the one being annoying, i'm just tired
Tim: ok.. so are you ok with chinese food for dinner? I was thinking of trying the new place down the block from here
Lucy: sure but i'm not that hungry
Tim: of course, i understand you don't have to come if you don't want
Lucy: no, i'll come, i'm just not that hungry
Tim: ok here let me drive you
Lucy: ok...
The ride there was quiet, I wanted to just go to bed and let all my emotions out but I can't in front of Tim, whether on duty or off. He's already seen me almost at my worst, i don't need him seeing the worst. We arrived there and he opened the door for me and helped me down from his truck. I walked close to him inside, I was just on edge recently. We ordered our food and I got a small thing of chicken fried rice and so did Tim. We talked about work for about an hour and just time flew by. I then got a phone call, from Chris...
Lucy: Tim, it's chris
Tim: ok, well did you ever even officially break up with him?
Lucy: no, i was planning on doing that tomorrow...
Tim: well answer it. he'll think your ignoring him
Lucy: ok
*The phone call*
Chris: Hey Lucy, i've been trying to reach you
Lucy: Yeah about that Chris...
Chris: Yeah?
Lucy: I think we should...break up...
Chris: What?!? funny you say that because i was on my way to the station when I saw you get in your TO's truck. WHAT? YOU SLEEPING WITH HIM NOW BECAUSE IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH? I MADE ONE MISTAKE BUT OFFICER BRADFORD SWOOPS IN AND NOW IM NOTHING, JUST A PIECE OF TRASH?!?
Lucy: Chris, no, i just don't like you that way anymore
Chris: UH HUH, IS THAT SO? WELL YOU CAN SHOVE THAT EXCUSE UP YOUR ASS! BYE LUCY CHEN, YOULL GET WHAT COMING FOR YOU
*CHRIS HANGS UPS THE PHONE ANGRILY*
Tim: I could hear chris screaming through your phone, you doing ok?
Lucy: Yeah, thanks for dinner, i think i'm gonna head home
Tim: Yeah of course, let me give you a ride back to the station so you can get your car
Lucy: thanks
The car ride was short but in that time it was silent, i decide to break it when he parked at the station
Lucy: hey Tim...
Tim: yeah?
Lucy: thanks a lot,.. for everything, you've been here for me, help me, and thank you so much for dinner
Tim: of course, you sure your taking everything ok, the phone call sounded kind of messy
Lucy: yeah... me and chris broke up
I said through watery eyes trying not to cry
Tim: hey, come here
Tim pulled me in for a hug and I hugged him back and cried a little. I pulled away and looked him straight in his beautiful blue eyes
Lucy: thanks again for everything, see you tomorrow
Tim: see you tomorrow
I left his truck, got in my car, and drive home. That night I cried myself to sleep but for the first time in along time, I wasn't sad or crying because of Caleb, I was crying because of a normal reason that other people can relate to, a break up
