Chapter - 57

Wei Wuxian explained Zhao Yi Ran's condition. Jade only nodded. After breakfast, Zhao Yi Ran went to rest after getting scolded by his master.

" So where were you ?" Wei Wuxian asked.

" Practising with my body." Lan Wangji said. It was not the complete truth but was not a lie either. He did not like to lie. He preferred remaining silent if he could not answer but with Wei Wuxian's personality he knew he could not escape without giving an answer.

Wei Wuxian and Er Ming nodded.

" What should we do now ?" Er Ming asked.

" Check another seal." Lan Wangji said.

" Why ?" Wei Wuxian asked.

" To confirm he is active or not." Lan Wangji said.

Wei Wuxian hummed in agreement. He was about to get up and accidentally touch Lan Wangji's hand but the other dodged like it was nothing. Wei Wuxian frowned.

Wei Wuxian tried again but intentionally and the result was same. Dodged.

" Wei Ying ?" Lan Wangji looked at Wei Wuxian, confused.

" Show me your hand." Wei Wuxian asked sternly.

Lan Wangji did not comply. He was just staring at the other. Er Ming sensed the tension between them.

Wei Wuxian himself grabbed Lan Wangji's wrist and his brows knitted.

" You are fine. Why dodging my touch ?" Wei Wuxian asked.

" Subconscious act." Lan Wangji said. He did not like skinship, everyone knew and also because of his unstable body , he kept himself away from others. So it was really a subconscious action to dodge any sneaky touch.

Wei Wuxian nodded but his heart did not want to believe even though he himself knew how much Jade hated coming in contact with others.

In evening, Wei Wuxian dragged Lan Wangji with him as he heard about the famous puppet show of the town. After watching for some time, Lan Wangji came out from the crowd. Sensing the absence of the other Wei Wuxian came out too and saw jade standing aside, away from others.

" Let's go back." Lan Wangji said.

Wei Wuxian noticed the change in the voice. He nodded. They went back to inn. Lan Wangji was moving upstairs when Wei Wuxian held his hand.

" Why are you so cold ?" Wei Wuxian asked , astonished, by the icy body temperature.

" It's normal." Lan Wangji said , taking back his hand and moved upward. He went to his room. Wei Wuxian was following him and as they reached, he grabbed Lan Wangji holding his arms , pushed him against the wall.

Lan Wangji was startled by sudden action.

" What's wrong ?" Wei Wuxian asked , staring deep in the golden pool.

" Nothing." Lan Wangji said. He did not know how Wei Wuxian noticed. He was always good in hiding and other also never noticed then why ? Did he let his guard down ?

" You are cold like ice and you are telling me 'nothing '." Wei Wuxian was getting angry.

" You tell me , what's wrong ?" Wei Wuxian asked.

" nothing is wrong." Lan Wangji said.

" Since when did you start to lie ?" Wei Wuxian said in accusing tone.

Lan Wangji was stunned by Wei Wuxian's words. He was controlling himself but it was already enough and the last bit loose too which was barely hanging.

In the next moment, his body turned into a hot stove. He clenched his jaw tightly.
