Script 20: Heart out

Start from the beginning

She took a handful of sand into her hand, and she watched as it slowly fell out of her palm, returning to the ground like an hourglass. "I may always be chosen by everyone, but I just want this specific person to choose me."

Chaewon stares at Yunjin as she quietly plays with the sand with one hand. Suddenly, the redhead turns her head towards her, and they make eye contact. "Because it seems as if I'm adored by everyone but her."

Maybe it really was the alcohol in her system, or perhaps it was because she was feeling tired and sleepy, but she felt as though Yunjin was saying that directly to her.

As if she was that one person that Yunjin was talking about. As if she was the person that Yunjin was referring to.

Sure, she may be intoxicated, but Chaewon didn't think that would be possible. At least she still had sober thoughts left in her mind.

"That sounds..."

"Very stupid? I know." Yunjin added before chuckling.

"I was about to say that it sounded surprisingly genuine coming from you." The taller girl rolls her eyes playfully before standing back up, "Alright, since I've finally answered your question, hopefully, let's get you to bed."

She reaches her hand out to Chaewon whose eyes are so close to dropping. She looked seconds away from falling asleep. Yunjin thinks it could be a mixture of both alcohol and sleepiness so she doesn't wait for Chaewon to hold onto her.

Instead, she reached further down until she was finally holding onto Chaewon's arm. She pulls her up in one swift motion without any struggles before turning around, presenting her back towards Chaewon.

"What are you doing-"

"You can't walk."

"Sure, I can." Chaewon tries to say in a confident voice but Yunjin knows better.

"I know you can't. Let me assist you."

"I promise I can walk."

"Just get on, loser."

Chaewon rolls her eyes at what Yunjin said. She was about to refuse because of that alone, but then as she tried to move just one step away, she felt her whole world wobble. That's when she knew she really needed Yunjin to be able to get back to her room.

So instead of protesting and refusing like the petty person that she is, she lowers her pride and clings onto Yunjin's shoulder.

"You better not drop me or else." She warns against Yunjin's back.

The taller girl chuckles before holding onto both Chaewon's legs and finally giving her a proper piggyback ride. "I'll try, just don't move around too much. You're not that heavy, but you're still a living, breathing, human being who just so happens to be slightly drunk."

Chaewon only hums against Yunjin's back, she doesn't have any more energy to actually mumble out a response.

Yunjin doesn't force her to talk anyway, so she stays in her position as Yunjin starts walking back to the hotel.

They feel another cold air greets them from the direction of the ocean again, and Chaewon becomes more relaxed against Yunjin's back. She even started hearing Yunjin's heart beating as she held onto the taller girl tighter.

For some reason, hearing Yunjin's heartbeat had the same feeling that she feels whenever she hears the rain tapping against her window as she's enveloped by her heavy and warm comforter back at home.

It was calming and very relaxing.

She could actually get used to this.

The next thing Chaewon knew they were already inside the hotel again. She's not sure if they passed by her friends, but then again, they were probably already drunk out of their minds to even notice Yunjin or Chaewon at all.
