sunken moon

3 1 0

she rises alone as she does fall,
yet shines for all too see.
her phases softly lighted
by the gleam of those who are free.

but out of touch,
out of sight,
out of mind.

for she's only noticed
when all falls dark.
as it all becomes to much to bear,
they glare up to her.

her beauty becomes a blessing.
her change becoming admirable.
and you wonder

how does she do it?
how can she bare herself?

when all is bright
she merely forgets how to stand,
when all is dark
she just wishes for a hand.

the light from others
is what leads her to glow.
her superficial beauty
merely more than your show.

she'll lean on those around her,
yet she claims she can stand tall.
but without that light around her,
oh she will continue to fall.
