We eventually reached the house. Nothing had really changed. Not that I expected it to have changed.
Charlie is still in love with my mom, he hasn't moved on yet. And he doesn't want to a change a thing my mother has designed.
There are still red roses littered on the front yard, I bet he takes care of them everyday. The little fountain in the shape of an angel is still in the place Renee, my mom, had left it. And I bet if we go inside we'll see yellow kitchen cabinets and a light blue wallpaper. And I bet he hadn't change the ugly marsh green shower curtain that doesn't match the the navy blue walls.

I removed my seat belt and turned around in my seat, grabbing my duffel bag.
Getting out of the car, I accidentally stepped on a puddle of rain water, getting my blue pants and white sneakers dirty and wet. Trying to hold my cursing mouth shut, I stepped out of the water and followed my dad inside.

Getting inside, the first thing I noticed was that I was right. The hallway and living room were surrounded by light blue walls.
I placed my bag on the bottom of the stairs and pulled off my shoes, keeping them in my hand so I could wash them later on.

I grabbed my bag again and walked up the stairs. I immediately went to the bathroom and placed my dirty shoes inside. Then I went to my old bedroom, seeing my father had placed my suitcase on the bed, but he was nowhere to be seen. I put my duffel bag and handbag next to my suitcase and pulled out my ear buds, putting them on the bed and put my phone in my back pocket.

I looked around, my room hadn't changed at all, like expected. Well, except for the bed, it had turned from twin-sized to a queen-sized bed.
But the walls were still a painted lilac color. Exactly opposite of the bed was my old white wardrobe. I opened it, expecting some of my old clothes to be hanging but it was empty. Right next to it sat my white desk, also empty, except for one framed photograph.
As I picked it up, I saw it was an old photo of me as a baby. My dad, looking very young, was holding me and my mom, looking super young as well, was watching with a fond smile on her face.

I put the photograph back and looked around, I realised that, staying here wasn't that bad of an idea as I thought it was.
I put the picture down and decided to change clothes. I opened my duffle bag and fished out my baby blue pj's.

I went to the bathroom and got out of my clothes. I looked around, searching for the laundry basket.

I pushed my clothes into a ball and tried to throw it into the basket like a basketball. Aaaand... I missed.
Grunting, I walked towards my clothes and put them in the basket.

I turned on the shower and as it was heating up, I got rid of my undergarments. I let my hair down and put my hair band around my wrist.
As I checked if the water was warm,  I slowly stepped under the soothing stream.

As I walked down the stairs, hungrily contemplating what I was going to eat, I heard Charlie speaking. So instead of going to the kitchen, I followed his voice.

"I'll see you guys later, alright. Bye,"

I walked into the living room, only catching my dad's last words as he hung up the phone.

"Hey Dad,"

My dad turned around and grunted in acknowledgement. "Oh, hey Bells,"

He sat down on the couch and turned on the TV, zapping through the channels 'till it landed on a sports game. He swiftly took a sip from his beer and watched as the game went on.

I walked towards the kitchen and opened the fridge, seeing it was freshly stocked.

"Hey, you remember Billy Black and his son Jacob, right?" My dad asked as I grabbed a couple vegetables, getting ready to make dinner.
