Chapter 8: Bonds of Love

They went forward and he plays on his leaf again.

She listens to his music quietly greatly enjoying the music.

Watching them is Hera and the girls.

"They look like they're having fun together." Hera said.

"Yes, but I can offer him more than her." Aphrodite said.

"Don't you dare. They're adorable together." Hera said.

Aphrodite frowns hearing that.

"How is it going with that one man Artemis?" Hestia asks her niece.

"He passed the trials so now I just need the right opportunity to start the hunt." Artemis said.

"So you like him?" Aphrodite said.

"Like is a strong word. I'm doing what Father ordered us to do." Artemis said.

"You know i'm the goddes of love right?" Aphrodite said.

"Yes I do but it's not love." Artemis said.

"Then what is it?"

"Nothing more than a hunt." She said.

"Well let's see how that will change, since you once loved a human called Orion." Aphrodite said.

"Be quiet." Artemis glares at Aphrodite.

"Isn't that him?" They saw Ryusei walking down a path.

"Yes." Artemis said a bit surprised.

"Well heres your chance." Aphrodite said.

She frowns but nods.

"What's with that look? This is what you wanted." Aphrodite said.

"I know that. I just hate having to deal with you." Artemis said as she leaves.

Aphrodite looks at the others. "What does that mean?"

Hera sighs.

"You do remember what Artemis is a goddess of right?" Hera questions.

"Chastity? She wanted to give it away to that other human." She pointed out.

"But in her case it was one. How many men did you sleep with?" Athena said.

She thinks about it. "I don't know. Plus she didn't even do it. She's still a virgin."

"Yes but if things didn't happened the way it did she would have been with Orion." Hera said.

"Blame Apollo for that." She said.

Hera nods in agreement.

Ryusei kept walking down. "Today is boring."

His ant was on his shoulder chittering at him.

"I know girl. I'll get you something to eat." He said.

He buys a apple and cuts it up into pieces for her. His ant eats it and she was happy.

"You know some days I wonder. Is this hero gig really me?" Ryusei said as he looks at the sky.

But he remembers the many friends he made and they were always there. He then sees some children playing happily making him smile a bit at this. It seeing the things that he's protecting that reminds him the reason.

"I might be nothing more than a thug but I can at least protect their futures." Ryusei said.

He then looks around. "Who's watching me?"

"I don't need a stalker so come out!" Ryusei said.

He waited and he saw someone from the distance outside the city.
