Not In The Same Way

Chapter 8 ~ At least in front of you

Henry looks at Jessie and back to me "I couldn't find you and thought I heard something in here."

Jessie rolls his eyes "ya, me in the bathroom. We waited around for you but I need a shower. Besides your cousin was getting boring."

From behind I can see Henry shoulder relax and he laughs a little "ya I don't know what I was thinking. But it's whatever." Henry grabs the towel off of Jessie's head "I'm going to take a shower then we're going to the diner." Henry walks off into his room and into the bathroom.

Looking around my room I notice that Jessie's clothes were gone. I guess he must have noticed "I moved them to Henry's room." I hum in response and shift from foot to foot. "So now are we going to talk about it?"

I roll my eyes "what's there to talk about? We had a moment and it was great but I don't think we need to talk about it."

Jessie ruffles his wet hair and pushes it back "look I just don't want this to be a problem And I defiantly don't want someone to know." He points towards the bathroom.

I nod my head "I totally agree. There's no reason for him or anyone else to know."

Jessie slowly walks over to me and grabs a strand of my hair and twirls it around his finger "we'll I'm going to go get dressed. I don't trust you with my naked body." He gives me a smile and a wink and walks off towards Henry's room. I fall on the bed. What did I just do and why do I want to do it again.

By the time Henry was done and out of the shower we were all ready to go meet the guys. While Henry got into Luke's truck but Jessie grabs my hands and calls out to Henry "hey! We'll meet you there!" While Henry looked a little confused he nodded and started pulling out. Jessie and I walk over to his truck and get in. He starts the truck and pulls out of the drive way. Once we were on the road he moves one of his hands from the steering wheel to my thigh. I turn my head towards him "look Cher, I think your beautiful and smart mouth girl but your Henry's cousin. Besides I'm not really looking for anything serious and I know your going through a lot. But I hope we can be friends? At least for Henry."

Are you kidding me? "I'm sorry but did I ask you to marry me?"

Jessie whips his head so he's now fully looking at me like I'm crazy but occasionally peaks at the road. "What?"

"I never ask for anything serious, did I? I don't want anything serious either. It's just not something I think everyone can handle, so why try and push it on to someone."

While he looked less shocked he still seemed surprised but it doesn't last for long. "You don't think I can handle being in a relationship with you?" He almost looks upset "because I can. I can handle a relationship."

I looked forward and noticed a small diner in view with all the guys trucks parked up front. "No, I think you could have a serious relationship. That's not what I said." He enters the parking lot and parks right beside Luke's truck. Once we're parked he turns towards me and we make eye contact "I don't think I can handle a relationship, serious or not. I don't think mentally I could handle it" And with that I open the door of the truck and shut it behind me before Jessie can say anything else. He must have gotten out as well because I hear his door shut and he walks beside me.

In silence we walk towards the entrance of the building and open the door. The inside seemed like every other diner but nice and clean. While it was still pretty early in the afternoon the diner was decently busy. Near the back I finally spot Henry and the guys sitting near the back of the restaurant all laughing about something. But it seems that maybe this is a common spot for them because before I could even start heading in that direction Jessie was already beating me towards the booth. I walk behind Jessie and make my way to the table and sit beside Luke. He gives me a big smile and wraps his arm around my waist and brings me close. I laugh and try to shove him away, he still in his gym clothes so I definitely know he didn't shower and I'm not looking to get all sweaty. Henry shoved his hands between us pushing us apart "hey hey hey get your dirty hands off my cousin."

I push Henry's hands away from me still laughing "what's your problem?"

Zach rolls his eyes and pats Henry's back "we'll your dear cousin here pretty much threatened us that if we got anywhere near you he'd feed us to jacks pigs."

I look over to Jessie whose taking a sip of his drink and shrugs his shoulders. I look towards Henry. He has the biggest smirk on his face and points a finger at me  "and the same goes for you. Don't even thinking about touching any of my friends." 

Luke brings his mouth to my ear "you can touch me anytime." He wiggles his eyebrows at me and I can't help but laugh.

Henry slaps his hands down on the table "This is what I'm talking about I don't want to watch my friend and my cousin being all handsy in front of me."

Now I give Henry a smirk "I promise I won't be handsy with your friends."

He almost looks relieved "thank you I really appreciate it."

Nows my time to strike "at least in front of you"

Panicked his body lurches forward "what!" We all laugh at his motion and I catch Jessie's eyes. What do they say. Don't tell a teenager what they can or can't do or they'll do the opposite. Now all I want is to be back in my bed with Jessie and that's exactly what's going to happen and with the look on his face, I think we both know it.
