Rare and endangered animals are disap...
There was a worn trail into the trees. Wei rode through them and then turned after a while and came into the clearing, galloping around the edge while the herd watched.
He used leg commands but he thought the horse would do what he wanted anyway. Kunlun had taught him he could think what he wanted the horses to do, because Wei had a special power of animal communication even as a child.
The stallion brought him back to the blanket, and he dismounted, throwing a leg over the horse's neck and jumping down. He patted him, put his head against the horse's forehead, and the horse took off.
"Whatta heck was that?" Yunlan asked.
"Do you remember when you told me you would leave 10,000 years ago after you came to me and became my lover?"
"Um yes, I'm sorry about it." Yunlan frowned and looked away.

"Well do you remember when I released a stallion and 3 mares from our service before riding alone back to camp?" [I Believe in You -Part 34- Every Minute]
"Yes, it was heart-wrenching and agonizing."
"This herd is descended from those horses I freed. They've passed knowledge of me all these years to the next generation, sharing physical information about me. Because animals communicate with mind pictures and ideas, they passed my visage on throughout the offspring, calling me the Sweet Grass Deliverer. The stallion recognized me, as did all the horses. He asked for the honor of carrying me."
"Over the years, more horses joined the horses I freed as the defections and deaths from the enemy army grew. Many horses were turned loose or escaped their bondage. They came up the mountain and joined the herd. More came from other wars and skirmishes later."
"It's amazing, Wei. They've lived in freedom for thousands of years because of you."
"Yes," Yezun said, "my brother is quite a hero to people and all creatures! Now let's eat this delicious lunch before the ants get it, Your Honor."
"Yes, I'm hungry," Yezun said.

When they started back to the cave, they heard the horses in the woods. They snorted and neighed. Some were standing out at the edge of the clearing, watching Wei the whole time. When he put things away in the pack, he turned toward them and waved.
They all bowed their heads to their knees until he left.
Back at the cave, Wei took Yezun and Yunlan to the waterfall next to the one that runs into the hot spring. He stopped the water by waving his hand.
Yunlan tried to do it to the other waterfall, but nothing happened to the water. A flame appeared on his finger. He hurriedly extinguished it, embarrassed.
"Don't stress yourself trying to copy me, Darling. It will come later." Wei gave him a small smile, he was pleased with his efforts.
