Wei yelled, "My LOVE, MY YUNLAN!! AHHHHH MMMMM" And panted. He opened his eyes. Yunlan hugged his waist and kissed him. He looked into Wei's dazed eyes.
"I am here, Babe. You moved your lower half just now!"
Wei tried to move his legs after Yunlan cleaned his belly with a tissue and helped him sit on the edge of the bed. Wei tried swinging his legs back and forth. He was able to do that an inch or two. He could paddle his feet a little bit.
"Look, I can move them now. This means I could walk again!" Yunlan helped Wei dress and brought the walker to him. He gripped it and pulled himself up. He balanced on the handles and moved his foot an inch. "I can walk!" Wei smiled his quiet confident smile.

After a shower and breakfast which Wei ate enthusiastically, they called and asked for the PT to come asap and advise them.
Meanwhile Wei listed all the cool things he will do when he can walk. He spoke rapidly and excitedly.
"I will go back to teach part time and research more of the ancient artifacts that were lost. We can explore more caves together. You know, I mean after we shut down the animal thefts. And I think I can help you with the dogs, walking them and feeding them. The new building will be built soon. I can help retrieve abandoned dogs that the Duke finds.
"About the animal thefts, I was thinking: there has to be one mastermind behind it all. Who could command a global action like that: and when we find the culprits I will be able to chase them down with you. After we called for backup of course. I'm never going on an action without calling for backup. Never. And waiting for them to arrive, of course. I will always do that.
"We can stop losing these precious cats and wonderful otters." He chatted on and on and listed 20 species of animals that were stolen. Yunlan who happily nodded was pleased to see Wei excited again, and using his scholarly approach. "We'll fix it," Wei concluded and adjusted his glasses.
"Okay, My Love, slow down, Huh? You will do all that. We need your brilliant mind on it, but it's better if we work together, right Babe?" Yunlan winked at Wei and kissed his forehead. He smiled at Wei's beautiful face and his optimism.
