Morning sun slanted into the cave entrance, lighting 10 feet of the dark stone floor. Yezun yawned and looked at it, rising from the covers and rapidly putting his clothes on. It was cold so he pulled on his boots quickly. He threw new wood on the fire and made it grow faster to warm the cave.
He put water on the stand over the fire and checked the breakfast supplies. In a large bowl he cracked 6 eggs and then chopped green onions and tomatoes.
Meanwhile:
Wei hugged Yunlan and kissed his cheek. "Wake up sleepy head, if you want breakfast. I'm going to make some tea first."
Yunlan hugged Wei to his chest, holding him tightly and they felt each other's heart beating against their chests.
Yunlan said, "I feel like my heart and yours have a single beat. Aware of the other, caring for the other, cherishing the other, matching each other."
"It is the most comforting, warm and exciting feeling," Wei noted. "I'm going to build up the fire and make tea."
Because they were in a bubble, he didn't see Yezun already making tea, and he got out of the quilt and dressed in a second.
Yunlan stretched and turned on his side, smiling. After staring at Wei, he said, "Why do you have to dress so fast? I like to watch you get dressed the old way."
"Too cold for that. The fire is going to warm the cave soon, though. Are you coming? I can leave the bubble if you want to sleep longer."
"I'll get up with you."
Wei dissolved the bubble. They saw Yezun at work on the food prep.
Yunlan said, "Oh, Yezun, you're making breakfast, that's great!" Yunlan took the teapot and poured 3 cups for them.
"What's the matter, don't you like my breakfasts?" Shen Wei had a displeased look, with lips in a straight line.

"No Sweetheart. I was just glad that you don't have to do it. You do almost all the cooking. I love your breakfasts and ALL the meals you make. I meant no offense."
"None taken." Wei smiled at him.
There was no table in the cave so they sat on the logs and ate scrambled eggs with green onions and rice with tomatoes on tin plates. Wei got up and put something in a pot and then poured in boiling water.
Yunlan inhaled the smell of fresh coffee.
"Ahhh, you've thought of everything. Thanks, my handsome hubby."
Wei strained the coffee and handed a large mug to Yunlan. He noticed Yunlan concentrating and looking around with his third eye.
