Yezun offered: "Okay, I will pack a lunch for us and fill the canteens with water."

They carried backpacks and hiked down the path away from the cave.The sun shone warmly and there was no snow left.
They came through pine trees that were thick around the cave and lake then thinned to accompany a trail that was little used by the looks of it. Big cat prints and small goat prints were on the trail, but no human prints.
There was a set of fresh horse hoof prints in the soft dirt that went up and down the trail. When they reached a clearing they saw long grass and went to the middle to lay down a blanket for the picnic.
Wei was studying some ants that were running along their own trail through the grass and saw them veer off toward the blanket.
He was several yards from the blanket and marveled at how quickly a scout came to the column and turned them.
They heard nickering and hoof beats softened by the grass.There was a loud sound in spite of the ground cover because there were too many to be silenced by the plants.
Wei looked up and the horses stopped and whinnied. They ignored Yunlan and Yezun and bobbed their heads at Wei.
A beautiful black stallion walked straight to him and bowed his head low. He pushed his nose against Wei.

Yunlan was standing and started toward Wei, thinking it was too strange. Yezun took him by the arm and stopped him.
"No, Lord Guardian. Leave them be. He is safe. Look with your third eye.
He looked and saw that Wei's green aura matched the stallion's that had some rosy accents in it.

The horse bowed to Wei and he put his hands on the horse. Then he jumped onto his back and they rode out with the herd back beyond the clearing.
