Broken Promises

I adore her

Like my queen

The moon is even less prettier

Than her.

I sent her daisies

But we don't talk anymore,

I thought she said

She would never do that.

I don't hate her

I'm just upset

By her, her actions

She turned into someone

Who wasn't my girl.

And I realized

Her forever, her words

Her actions, her promises

We're just some delusions

To ME.

In shattered lives, with broken trust,

The promises we made now gather dust,

And the frames of our photographs

Are covered with spiders and cobwebs.

And the forever she asked me to teach

Went away in seconds like

A dust of snow

Falling apart a hemlock tree.
