"You never had control, that's the illusion! I was overwhelmed by the power of this place. But I made a mistake, too, I didn't have enough respect for that power and it's out now."
After ten years, Jurassic World, the multibillion dollar a...
I returned my gaze to the large, ugly looking pterodactyl that blocked our path, severing our chances of escaping this hell we've been docked on. Gray ran to my side, gripping my upper arm. We watched as it lowered its wings, draping them along its large brown body. Its dull yellow eyes never left mine as it tilted its head, watching our every move.
Loud popping sounds filled my ears as we watched the pterodactyl randomly started squawking and flapping its wings. Dark red liquid oozed from its wings and I figured the popping was shots being fire. It was injured. One single shot went off and the pterodactyl halted, its glare locking in on us before it fell to the ground, lifeless.
The brush was parted, and light illuminated the road. A figure came walking up the path. A man stepped into view with a gun in hand. His face was grim and hard and he was dressed as one of the parks security guards. "You kids all right," he asked.
Finally, I thought. Someone that could hopefully tell us what's going on. As soon as he opened his mouth to greet us, countless questions came tumbling out of our mouths. What was going on? Why were we being attacked by dinosaurs? What type of dinosaur even was that? How'd they all get out? The guard refused to answer our questions without drowning on about how we should have listened to the alters. One long useless lecture, and some absentminded head nodding on our part later, the officer finally lead Zach, Gray and I to the Innovation Center.
I hoped that Claire and my father will be able to explain what is going on.

I could hear yelling from outside of Main Street as we pulled up at the large gate blocking us from the unknown mayhem going on inside. I got out of the car, shutting the door hard, watching Pterodactyls flying around my heads as we entered Main Street.
I looked in utter despair at the people screaming, covering their heads and scrambling every which way. Pterodactyls landed on visitors, clawing and attaching the them. Most of the injures didn't seem that serious, but the blood the covered some of their faces made me flinch. I searched the crowd, looking for Zara. The security team we were with had called her and we were supposed to meet her and head to the hotel.
"There you are!" I heard someone yell. Turning my head, I saw a very angry Zara stalking towards us. "Where have to three been?" Her face was red as if she were going to explode. I braced myself. "I have been looking every-" Her sentence was interrupted by her screams.
"Holy shit!" Zach had snuck up behind me. Gray closely at his side.
We watched hopelessly as she's snatched up by a pterodactyl. It carried her all they way to the edge of the Mosasurus tank, fumbling with the weight of her, before dropping her into the water. We quickly ran over to the side, gaping as she swam to the top of the water, still screaming. I let out a sigh, relieved that she was okay.
But I had spoken too soon.
Another pterodactyl had scooped her up into its mouth, launching itself into the sky. The water split apart, unleashing teeth and a roar louder than that of the Dino from the woods, making the ground vibrate. The pterodactyl flew straight up in an attempt to get away, but it was too late. I clutched onto Zach, burying my face his shirt, as the pterodactyl, and Zara, were seized by the Mosasurus and swallowed whole.
Zach, Gray and I stood there, motionless. I can't believe that just happened. Zara was gone. Although I didn't know her well, I still felt bad. This day couldn't get any worse. Zach grabbed my arm, leading me further into Main Street.
Main Street had be transformed into a battlefield: man vs. dinosaur. Children and their parents ran for cover, dashing for the multiple restaurants that ran along the street.
"He have to find Aunt Claire."
Trying not to look over my shoulder at the splashing on the Mosasurus, I focused on finding Ms. Dearing. I contemplate standing on something to get a better look, but I am quickly lead towards the center of the street.
"There, look," Gray yells, pointing.
I follow his finger and see Claire standing on top of one of the abandoned tables. Her calm demeanor is gone and her previously straight hair is now in waves. Her white button down shirt is tied tightly around her slim waste and the hem of her skirt is dirtied. She's screaming and searching for something, her eyes scanning the chaos. Her head snaps in our direction. She scrambles to get down from the table.
"Gray, Zach, Mari!"
We run to her and she surprisingly grabs all three of us in a hug. Her perfume, although not strong, wafts into my nose, and I hold in the urge to cough. She pulls away from us, her eyes looking us up and down.
"Are you ok," she asks, holding Gray's dirty face in her hands. "What happened? Why didn't you turn back," she cries, tears leaking from her light blue eyes.
I glanced at Zach, frowning. Why didn't we turn back? We wouldn't be in this mess if we did. If I has suggested be go back, like we were warned to do, them maybe I could have stopped this...
"Where's my father?," I asked. "Is he meeting me somewhere?"
Claire frowned. Breathing in slowly, she looked as if she were contemplating something.
"Woah. Who is that?" Zach interrupted before she could answer.
I followed his glaze and saw a man firing off a gun, defending off the attacking pterodactyls. He was large, but in a muscular way. His face was twisted into a hard scowl and his dark eyes were narrowed. He stopped his assault and headed our way. He was dressed in what I've seen some of the animal trainers wore. And, with the rather large gun, I guessed that he worked here in the park.
"Oh," she sighed, "that is Owen. Owen Grady. He works with the velociraptors."
He came up behind Claire, a worried expression on his face. "Sorry to interrupt, but we have to leave," he scolded, turning to leave and gesturing us to follow him. He lead us to a Mercedes Benz that had the Jurassic World logo on the side. I slid in the backseat first, followed by Gray, then Zach.
"Um, where are we going," I questioned. What about my father?
Without turning around, Owen answered. "To save my velociraptors form a crazed jackass."
