Meeting the family

Melanie's POV

I just finished changing now I'm waiting for Lilly to get ready for basketball practice. After she finished we went to the gym. Coach made us run laps around the court. I was the first to finish Coach told me to give the girls drills to do while he went to his car to get his play book. I told the girls to just do some simply drills shooting, passing, and dribbling. Coach came back and told us the game plan for our game this weekend. Before I knew it practice was over Lilly and I went to the locker room and changed out of our practice clothes.
"Mel I heard this rumor that the new kid got into it with Trevor. What happened?" She asked with concern.
"Nothing it was stupid they were acting crazy." I brushed it off like it was nothing.
"Are you sure because you know I'm here for you." she said looking at me. I was touched of how much she wanted to know because she actually cares about me. But I will never have the guts to tell her what Trevor does to me.
"Hey Lilly do you need a ride home?" I asked her while we left the girls locker room.
"Nah girl my mom is coming she-" she got distracted by her phone ringing. When Lilly was on the phone talking to someone I saw Dominic playing soccer. I didn't know he played a sport he was shirtless which I wasn't surprised to know that he had a 6 pack. He noticed me staring and he smiled showing his teeth. He had a really nice smile it was cute, I was smiling back then heard Lilly calling me and I lost my train of though.
"My mom is here I'm leaving I'll see you tomorrow girl" she said while hugging me and walking away.
I walked to my car and I didn't have to worry about my brother because he walks home after school because of my practice. I was looking for my keys in my bag. And then I heard his voice and stood still because I was petrified to turn around and talk to Trevor.
"Mel I'm sorry about today I got you something." Every time he hurts me he always gets me a present thinking it's going to change what happened.
"Umm what did you get me.."
"I got you a new phone case. Its the case that is a charger and a case put together. I remember you said you wanted one so I bought it for you during football practice."
"Thanks I appreciate it" I say taking it and putting it in my bag. I found my keys and opened my car door.
"I'll see you tomorrow babe I love you" when he said that he tried to kiss me but I moved my head and I shouldn't have done that
"Wtf is your problem I said I was sorry you need to get over yourself. I ditched football practice to buy that stupid case I could get kicked of the team!" After that he slapped me on the face. I started to cry and he got even more mad he was lifting his arm again, I closed my eyes and I heard punching put I didn't feel any of them. I opened my eyes and I see Dominic punching Trevor. Trevor started to bleed but Dominic kept hitting him after a while Trevor fell and that's when Dominic stopped hitting him.
"Melanie are you okay?!?"
"Yyeah um I should go" I was so scared Trevor was going to get up and hit me again or even worse. I got in my car and drove home with tears in my eyes. I should've checked on Trevor before I left now he might have to teach me a lesson.
I got home and went straight to my bed room then to the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my cheek red with my red eyes from crying so much. I decided to take a shower and just go to sleep and forget that this day happened.
Next morning I woke up before my alarm because my phone ringing from texts. They were from Trevor I was so scared to open them but I had to so I won't get in more trouble.
Trevor: you better have a good explanation for leaving me on the ground bleeding and not helping me!
Trevor: I'm thinking I'm going to teach you a lesson because you've been a bad girl!
Trevor: if you don't reply you're going to be in more trouble!
I was terrified to even get out of bed but I had to so I won't be in more trouble with him. Now I have to reply to him and tell him why I left. I didn't try to dress good today I put on a pair of sweats with a v neck and a pair of black roches. I skipped breakfast and just waiting for Jacob in my car. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice Dominic walking out of the house next door and walking towards my car then him knocking on my car window.
"Good morning Melanie" he said with the biggest smile on his face. Seeing him smile made me forget all about Trevor and the drama with him.
"Good morning Dominic"
"Um look I'm sorry about last night I didn't mean to beat him up so hard I tried to stop but I only imagined him hitting you again. The only reason I stopped was because I heard you crying and I wanted to make sure you were okay."
"Thank you but please stop trying to be my hero like I said yesterday in the janitor closet I can take care of myself." after I said that Jacob got in the car and I drove to school. Leaving Dominic on my drive way.
