No.21 Meet the in-laws

Summary: It's Hunter's 2nd birthday and the in-laws pay a visit.

Chapter 1

Nell's POV

"Hey Eric can I talk to you?" I asked
"Sure," he replied I grabbed his hand and took him out of Ops so we could talk in private I turned to face him face to face and let out a big sigh "what's wrong?" Eric asked
"My Dad is coming to visit," I said
"and?" he asked
"Well...my Dad kind of doesn't know that you or hunter exist,"
"Right..." he said "so...uhm... Can I meet him?"
"yes of course, you and Hunter can both meet him. How about I organize my Dad to come over for Hunter's birthday to," I suggested
"And at the same you can meet my Mum... Who also knows nothing about you or Hunter,"
"At least our parents have something in common," I laughed.

Chapter 2

Eric's POV

"so what time is your Dad getting here?" I asked nervous
"His flight lands at 11am," she replied
"okay," I nodded taking in a deep breath
"Hey... It'll be fine maybe our parents will get on,"
"it's not that I'm worried about," I said
"What are you worried about?" she asked
"your dad,"
"why?" she asked
"well he's never met me before and as soon as he finds out he might get all protective and I'm worried he might... kill me," I said
"seriously," she laughed
"it isn't funny Dad's are very protective of daughters especially when they only have one,"
"two actually,"
"what?" I asked
"I have a sister Eric,"
"what?!?" I exclaimed
"her name's Sophia, she's 24,"
"oh,"
"what about you do you have any siblings?" she asked
"no I'm an only child," I replied all of a sudden Nell's phone rang she left the room to answer it she came in a few seconds later "that was my Dad his flights going to be a bit late," I nodded all of a sudden there was a knock at the door I opened it to find my Mum standing there suitcase and jacket in hand "hey, Mum,"
"there's my baby boy come here," she said giving me a big kiss on the cheek
"come in there's some people I want you to meet," I said leading my Mum to the living room "close your eyes," she closed her eyes and I sat her down on the couch Nell quietly came around the corner with Hunter in her arms "open your eyes," I said she opened her eyes and let out a big scream "oh gosh golly, he's a handsome lad he looks just like you...OMG Eric why didn't you tell me?" she asked slapping me on the arm repeatedly making Nell laugh
"Ms Janet Beale I would like you to meet my son Hunter dean Beale and my wife Nell Jones," I said introducing my mum and Nell
"hi very nice to meet you," Nell smiled
"it's a pleasure to meet you...my you're a very pretty young lady,"
"thank you,"
"you're more then welcome dear... Welcome to the Beale family.

Chapter 3

Nell's POV

1 hour later

"Dads flight lands in half an hour I better go so I can get there early Dad doesn't like to be kept waiting to long," I said
"oh I'm afraid I might not like your father if he's like that. It's the reason I divorced Eric's father very impatient bast..."
"Mum!" Eric exclaimed making Janet blush. I kissed Eric and Hunter goodbye and then left.

"hey baby girl,"
"hey dad,"
"it's been ages since I've seen you, oh how you've grown," I led Dad to the car and we left the airport. "So what has my baby girl been up to?" my dad asked I sighed "everything alright Nell... am I going to have to get my shotgun again,"
"No...no shotguns," I said
"So is there a boy staying at your apartment?"
"and his mother,"
"his mother... so it's pretty serious?"
"well yes we're...we're married,"
"WHAT!" my dad yelled "YOU'RE MARRIED AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME!" he continued
"well...uhm," I stuttered
"what else haven't you told me?" he asked
"uhm...uhm,"
"Nell Jones tell me this instant I hate secrets,"
"Fine I married a man, his name is Eric Beale and we have a 1 year old son his name is Hunter and he turns 2 today,"
"I don't like that you've kept so many secrets from me Nell,"
"I'm so..."
"we'll talk about this later we can celebrate Harrison's birthday and then we'll talk...in private,"
"his name's Hunter dad,"
"whatever," he groaned. I sped up so our ride would be shorter after a while I decided to say something "Dad do me a favor please,"
"what?" he asked
"be nice to Eric. You might hate his guts but I love him and his Mum's over so please try and make an effort to get to know her please,"
"I can't guarantee but I'll try,"

Eric's POV

"hey we're back," Nell said giving me a kiss on the lips
"how'd the car ride home go?" I asked
"I'll tell you later," she replied as soon as she said that I knew that she and her Dad and had an argument I wrapped my arm around her waist and kissed her forehead "that's enough of that buster, whilst I'm under this roof keep your snake in its cage, got it,"
"DAD!" Nell yelled
"what it was a simple order,"
"Come with me for a second," said Nell to her father storming off
"excuse me," Nell's dad said quickly leaving the room
"what a piece of work, she's such a lovely girl but she's the spawn of that. Good luck son he's your father-in-law. "

Nell's POV

"Dad I asked you to do one thing and that was be nice not order him around like a navy seal,"
"woah sweet heart I'm sensing some hostility,"
"some... you should feel more then some,"
"why are you being like this?" he asked
"you told my husband to keep his snake in it's cage whilst you're here for one thing it's our house and another how do you think Hunter was born. I'm not a young girl anymore I'm a 26 year old woman who loves that man very much if you can't accept that then get out of my house otherwise stay and shut up with your stupid opinions,"
"that is no way to talk to your father,"
"that was no way to talk to my husband," I said storming out. I ran into the bathroom and cried after a while I washed my face and fixed my make-up. I came out and gave Eric a hug and kiss "sorry about my Dad," I said
"that's ok," Eric said
"no its not. I should of told him about you... about Hunter... about everything but I hid it from him and now he's really... really mad at me and you," I sighed Eric nodded
"Well no offense but I now know one of the many reasons why your Mum left him,"  said Janet
"My mum didn't leave my Dad," I said
"She's still with him?" she asked
"No... she's dead she died 2 years ago...breast cancer," I said Janet went really quiet
"I'm so sorry,"
"it's ok you didn't know," I said
"this day was suppose to be good it's turning out to be awful," Eric said
"and it's my fault," Nell's dad said he walked over to me he stared at me and then Nell he put out his hand for a handshake I grabbed his hand and shook it "I'm Oliver Jones...but you can call me Dad," Eric looked at me I smiled and gave my Dad and Eric a hug "welcome to the family Beale."

Thanks for reading this far and btw I made up the bit about Nell's Mum being dead I don't know if that's true and I made up the names of Eric's and Nell's parents.
