A look he had never seen before.

It was all unknown. She was acting in a way he had never seen her act before. He watched Taylor pack up her diary and place it underneath a pillow before standing up to give him a light kiss on the cheek.

"Ive order some take out Trav. I couldn't be bothered to cook tonight."

"Sounds good to me. How was your day." He asked removing his shoes to help her get out some plates from the kitchen cupboard.

"It was fine. I didn't really do anything." She said quietly as she continued to grab cutlery to set the table with.

The food arrived and was half consumed. Sat in the darkness of the Scottish sunset. Nothing about it was the perfection he had planned for them. No romance or passion, just silence.

"Are you ok Tay?" Travis finally asked, at last breaking the awkward silence between them that had been growing stronger and stronger by the minute.

"I'm fine Trav, I've just had some things on my mind today thats all."

"Talk to me!" Travis asked, reaching a hand across to stroke the top of her left hand.

"I really am fine. I'm just tired and I don't feel well. You have much more important things to worry about at the moment." Travis thought quietly to himself but couldn't believe her rationale. There was nothing more important to him at that point in time than Taylor.

"I mean I know I've had other things on my mind babe but that doesn't mean that I don't care about you too."

"I know Trav. I know." Taylor replied, her voice wavering with a bargaining tone. There were things she clearly wanted to say, and to tell him. but she couldn't think of how to. "I know its been hard your brother and everything but there are things I wanted. I need to talk to you about.."

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm so unhappy Trav!" Taylor cried

"You were fine last night." Travis saw her look at him with disbelief before moving towards the kitchen to clear up the plates of uneaten food, season with the salty tears of despair "No come on Tay, I didn't mean it like that. Just, talk to me."

"Trav there is nothing more to talk about ok. Just leave me alone." She said, scrapping the final pieces of meat off of Travis' plate before placing it in dishwasher. He moved to follow her out of the kitchen and into the living room where they stood either side of the coffee table.

"Whatever it is that I have done ok, I am sorry. Whatever you are angry about."

"What you don't know?" Taylor asked, looking up from where she had been organising the pieces of paper on the table in front of her and between them. She hurriedly began organising, shoving papers into files without a care for the condition of the papers she was handling.

"NO I DONT FUCKING KNOW TAYLOR!!!" Travis yelled, causing Taylor to halt in her aggressive tracks. "I don't know ok, so just chill the fuck out and talk to me!"

"You don't love me anymore Trav!"

"That not true." Travis bargained

"Isn't it?" Taylor questioned, looking up into his green eyes as tears began to form in her own blue ones. "Do you know what, I used to feel good enough. Like I mattered. Like it didn't matter that I wasn't like Kayla, or Maya. That I wasn't a party animal out on the town every night, I thought that is what you wanted !"

"It is. Tay I love you, Ive always wanted you."

"I think you've outgrown me Trav." She sighed, omitting a nervous giggle to herself as her thought continued to spiral. "You know it was so stupid of me to think that a cool guy like you could ever love a girl like me."
