Y/N'S POV 🌸🌾

I was trying to mind my own business when someone thought of ruining it.

" Hey, looks like you're having a thrilling day over there, princess. Enjoying the view?" He shouted.

My irritation flared at Jake's remark, and I shot him a glare, unimpressed by his attempt at humor.

" Very funny, Jake. Maybe you should work on your material." I coldly replied him.

Jake chuckled, unfazed by my response, and turned his attention back to Heather, leaving me to stew in my  annoyance.

I watched them interact, feeling increasingly irritated by Jake's presence and his casual attitude towards me.

" Y/n, come join us!" Heather shouted.

I hesitated, still feeling irritated by Jake's earlier remark.

" No, I'm fine here, thanks." I nervously smiled.

" Oh, come on, Y/n. Don't be shy." He smirked.

I rolled my eyes, annoyed by his persistence.

" No, really, I'm good. You two enjoy your reunion." I smiled, trying to protest.

Heather, sensed my discomfort, and walked over and gently took me by the arm, leading me towards where Jake was.

" Oh, don't mind her. She's just shy. Come on, Y/n." Heather laughed.

I reluctantly followed Heather towards Jake, my irritation simmering beneath the surface. I knee that  I would have to interact with Jake sooner or later, but I was not looking forward to it.
**Scene: Jericho Park - Afternoon**

Heather led me towards Jake.

" You know, today has been really nice. I met a new friend and got an old friend back too." Heather told us, feeling excited.

I smiled, touched by Heather's sentiment.

" Jake, this is Y/n. Y/n, meet Jake." Heather widely smiled, looking at both of us.

He gave me a smirk, and I returned it with a polite smile, which I knew wasn't so polite.

"Ah, Y/n, we meet again. Funny running into you twice in one day." He widely smiled.

I raised an eyebrow, amused but also slightly annoyed by his teasing.

" Yes, funny. It's almost like you're following me." I joked.

" Me? Follow you? Perish the thought. I just have impeccable timing." He smirked.

"Well, I have better things to do than argue with you all day, Jake. Excuse me." I politely smiled.

With that, I decided to walk away, leaving Jake and Heather chuckling behind me.

" Hey, Y/n, don't be a stranger! I'll be around if you need me." He shouted.

I was already annoyed by Jake's earlier comments, so I  couldn't help but respond in kind. I turned around, raised my middle finger at him, and continued walking away, leaving him and Heather laughing.

" Jerk." I said under my breath.

Heather catched up to me, still chuckling.

"Well, that was certainly... something." She said.

" He asked for it." I smirked, turning around.

" So, Jake mentioned that he's only here for today. He's leaving town again tomorrow." She told me.

My eyes light up with surprise and a hint of relief.

"Really? He's leaving already?" I asked.

"Yeah, something about just passing through. Seems like he's got places to be." She answered.
