Today is my...our 12th birthday. Soon I'll be going back to school and when I do go back, soccer will be right after school so I'll be busy. Bas says I won't be that busy, but how would he know. Gosh, I despise him. Mom says not to say 'hate' so she make me say despise.

Stupid bozo, why'd he choose to be born on the same day as me. Like, he could've chose yesterday or waited until tomorrow. But nooooooo, he wants to choose today. Momma says babies can't choose that, but I still think so. He always brags about how he's two minutes older. I, honestly, see no point in bragging over two minutes... its two minutes. But, Bas is a different breed.
Momma won't let us downstairs and she sent Bas with me. So, we're sitting in silence. Georgie, Bas' mom, is downstairs too. Our mom are besties since they grew up together, now they're trying to get us to have the same friendship.... "Why do you hate me so much?" Bas asked, looking at me from his spot on my bed. Silence... "I don't... I don't hate you." I say looking away from him and down at my desk in front of me.
"Then why do you despise me?" He asks again..and once again silence. "Why do you despise me?" I ask.
"The girls at school say that's what people do when they're around their crush... so I thought I'd-" he looked down at his hands. "I thought I should act the same way and maybe you'd catch on." A tear slips from his eye. I walk over and sit next to him.
"He's very fun anddd funny! Kind too!" Skylar stops and giggles, making the audience laugh. "He's an amazing friend and-"
"Friend?" he whispers so only Skylar could hear him. Sky looks over at him and is met with a sad Bas... "Wait I didn't- I didn't mean it like that!" Skylar whispers back Bas looks as if he's gonna cry and Sky pouts.
"Do you want a hug?"
Skyler holds their hands out to hug him and Bas nods, leaning into them for the hug. The crowd awes until they see the engagement ring sparkle in the spotlight and everyone gasps and cheer for the couple.
