As they walked inside, Aaliyah found herself wondering what had made her so adamant about joining Lucy inside. Perhaps she believed she could protect her from whatever influence the skull had over her, or perhaps she did not want the girl to endanger herself in an isolated manner, none of them could be close enough to prevent whatever was planned for Lucy inside that house and the thought scared Aaliyah more than she cared to admit.
They wandered through darkened hallways that ended up looking the exact same to Aaliyah but she reminded herself that this was crucial, they needed to do this. Mindless chatter followed from Lucy conversing with the skull, one sided as usual. It was annoying, hearing half of a conversation, but the girl ignored it.
