Chapter 12 | The Sports Festival: Part 4 - Let the Show Begin

"Hmm I LIKE IT!" Midnight said while cracking her whip. "Shoda and Ojiro have withdrawn! Taking their places will be 2 members from Team Kendo who took 5th!"

It was decided that Team Tetsutetsu would have 2 members join, per request of Kendo from class B. She seems very dependable and kind, kinda like Yaomomo. The first 2 teams began picking their opponents from the box and the pairings were solidified. Looks like I'll be up against Iida in the first round. Speed vs. Speed... an interesting pair. You thought as you smirked at the board You began to look at who your friends were up against and gasped lightly,

Midoriya vs Shinso... Uraraka vs Bakugo... You hated to think this way but knowing Bakugo, Uraraka would be burned to a crisp I wish I could trade with her... that way she wouldn't get hurt by his 'explosive' temper. You looked back up and saw that Todoroki would be facing Sero, if Todoroki wins he'll be facing Midoriya if he wins his first match... It's just what they wanted, they wanted to fight and they are being given the chance to go at it.

Soon after the 16 finalists went on their own, some doing activities while others tried to ease their minds before the battles. You decided to join your friends as they cheered in the stadium, you were finally comfortable in the outfit and began to wave your poms around cutely with a smile.

Before long the final game was announced and you were back in your gym clothes, sitting in the stands with your class as Midoriya's match was about to start. Watching the 2 boys walk out onto the cement arena sent a chill up your spine, Midoriya doesn't like to use his quirk that much, but when he does it can be scary powerful! This should be an interesting fight. With that the match began.

It started out as a stand off, both boys glaring at one another as if it were a heated staring contest. as you looked closer, it seemed as if they were talking to each oth- well, more like Shinso doing all the talking. Whatever the lavenderette said seemed to strike a nerve and Midoriya lunged at the boy while yelling. Suddenly he froze up, he was motionless in the arena as he stared ahead blankly. While staring out in confusion you heard Ojiro yell out from behind, "Midoriya! Dammit I tried to warn you!"

The boys statement scared you, warned him...? Is he really that dangerous? You paused and thought about the symptoms Ojiro had mentioned early coming to the conclusion that Shinso could in fact brain-wash people. It's gotta have something to do with his voice right? Otherwise why would Midoriya not be affected until after he responded... Your attention was back to the fight as Present Mic and Mr. Aizawa were talking about the student stats. Midoriya began to move again, this time towards the edge of the arena. You began to fear for Midoriya's qualifications as he was quite literally following orders from his opponent. Uraraka and Iida were both frantically watching as Midoriya drew closer and closer to the arena's edge.

As if time had stopped a huge gust of wind came from where Midoriya stood causing you to shield your eyes slightly. Looking back down at the field you saw that Midoriya had yet to leave the field of play, turning around with a deadly glare as he paused. Shinso had a look of pure shock as he began yelling at Midoriya, you assumed it was about how he got out of his mind-control.
