PAST

The stadium buzzed with excitement as the championship match drew near. He stood on the field, his heart pounding with a mixture of nerves and anticipation. This was his chance to prove himself, not just to his teammates and coaches, but to his father, who had always doubted his abilities.

But as he glanced up into the stands, his anxiety multiplied tenfold. There she was, cheering for the opposing team with a fervor that made his heart ache. It was funny how she had seen him around campus, how she had smiled at him, yet she didn't even know his name.

He had been too much of a coward to introduce himself at the prom, too afraid of rejection to take a chance. And now, as he stood on the field, he cursed himself for his own stupidity.

But today would be different. Today, he would make her notice him, no matter what it took.

As the game began, he threw himself into the fray with a determination that bordered on desperation. He fought harder, ran faster, and played better than he ever had before. He went for the toughest goals, the most daring plays, all with her image burned into his mind.

And as the final whistle blew and they emerged victorious, he couldn't help but feel a surge of triumph coursing through his veins. He had done it. He had proven himself, not just to his father, but to her.

He looked up into the stands, searching for her among the crowd. And when he found her, his heart skipped a beat. She was staring at him, her eyes wide with awe and admiration. He felt a rush of satisfaction wash over him, knowing that he had finally caught her attention.

And then, without thinking, he winked in her direction, a small gesture that spoke volumes. Her face flushed crimson, and he couldn't help but smirk, knowing that he had succeeded in making her notice him. she made her way down to the field, a radiant smile lighting up her face. He watched her approach, his heart pounding with anticipation and nerves.

"Congratulations!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with genuine delight. "That was an amazing game!"

He could hardly believe his luck as she extended her hand towards him, her touch sending a jolt of electricity coursing through his veins. "Thank you," he managed to stammer out, his voice betraying his nerves.

She laughed, the sound like music to his ears. "I'm so proud of you and the team," she said warmly. "You guys played like champions out there."

He felt a swell of pride at her words, his chest swelling with a sense of accomplishment. But then, something she said caught him off guard. "You're quite the star player, Taehyung."

He blinked in surprise, his mind racing to process her words. She knew his name? She had been following his games? The realization hit him like a ton of bricks.

Of course she knew his name. He was a member of the football team, after all. But the fact that she had taken the time to pay attention to him, to support him from the sidelines, it filled him with a warmth that he couldn't quite describe.

But then, another thought occurred to him. "Wait, you were cheering for the other team," he blurted out, his jealousy flaring up once again.

Her smile faltered slightly, and he felt a pang of guilt at the hurt he saw in her eyes. "Oh, that," she said, her voice tinged with sadness. "I was actually cheering for my brother. He plays for the other team."

He felt like a fool, his jealousy suddenly seeming petty and foolish in the face of her explanation. "I'm sorry," he said quickly, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I didn't realize."

She smiled reassuringly, reaching out to squeeze his hand gently. "It's okay," she said softly. What she didn't feel was how a jolt of electricity shot through him, sending a shiver down his spine. He had never felt anything like it before, a strange mix of excitement and nervousness swirling within him.

Her words washed over him like a soothing lullaby, their soft cadence lulling him into a daze. He found himself lost in the depths of her gaze, unable to tear his eyes away from her mesmerizing beauty.

But then, as if from a distance, he heard her voice calling out to him. "Did you hear what I said?" she asked, her brow furrowing with concern.

He blinked, snapping out of his reverie. "I'm sorry, what was that?" he stammered, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

She chuckled softly, a sound like music to his ears. "I asked if you knew my brother, Liam," she repeated, her smile warm and inviting.

He felt a pang of discomfort at the mention of her brother. He had met him during the practices, and the guy was one arrogant prick. But he wasn't about to say that to her.

"Yeah, I've met him a few times," he replied, forcing a smile onto his face. But before he could say anything else, his friends called out to him from across the field, urging him to join them for the victory party. He glanced back at her, torn between the desire to stay and talk to her more and the pull of his friends.

She must have sensed his hesitation because she waved her hand dismissively. "It's okay," she said with a smile. "I just came to congratulate you. Go enjoy your celebration."

He felt a pang of disappointment at her words, wishing he could spend more time with her. But he knew that he couldn't pass up the chance to celebrate with his friends.

"Thank you," he said sincerely, meeting her gaze one last time before turning to join his friends. He walked with, his heart still racing from their encounter, he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing for the girl who had captured his heart with just a touch of her hand.
