Chapter 4: A Game With a Devil

The second day of school.

Y/n didn't think he'd spend the morning waiting outside the gates of Kuoh for any teachers, or at least Rias to let him in. But he did get to the school early so he could have time to explain almost everything to Rias. Thankfully he wasn't kept waiting long, for Rias had approached him as he was leaning on the pillar next to the gate.

"Y/n, I didn't expect to see you here so early," Rias sounded shocked.

"Yeah well I suppose that's what happens when you promise to explain your past to someone," Y/n explained his reason, only somewhat condescending, "Any way, I wanted to take as much time as I could to explain, so that's why I am early."

Rias sighed, "Alright, then I suppose we can just go straight to the main room of the Club Building."

She quickly looked around before casting a teleportation circle, sending the both of them to the main room of the Old School Building that Rias and her peerage used.

"Now, go ahead and please take a seat," Rias politely requested.

Once Y/n sat down on the couch, Rias sat on the opposite couch waiting for him to start.

"So where do you want me to start," Y/n asked.

"Just who you are and what you do," Rias quickly answered.

"Alright."

Thus Y/n began to explain who he was, still hiding the part where he was a descendent of Sparda. He went on to explain himself, his family, those he considered family, and what they all did as a business started by Dante, the Devil May Cry.

"So I suppose Devil Hunter had a better ring to it than Demon Hunter," Rias asked.

"Yeah, made much more sense with the name of the business," Y/n nodded before continuing, eventually coming to the conclusion of what led him here to Japan, "And so I guess my Grandfather sent me here to actually get an education on paper as opposed to remaining homeschooled."

"I'm sure your grandfather means well," Rias smiled at him, "Now since you know that I am a Pure Blooded Devil, I suppose I should formally introduce myself. I am Rias Gremory, Daughter of Zeoticus Gremory and Heiress of the House of Gremory, and little sister to one of the 4 Satans of the Underworld, Sirzechs Lucifer."

Y/n heard that last name and held his hand up for her to pause, "Wait, you mean to tell me that your brother is The Devil?"

"Yes? I mean he earned it with his power many years ago in Devil history," Rias nodded confused.

Y/n nodded and had a funny idea, but hid the look that was threatening to appear on his face, "Anyways continue."

"Well I am a Pure Blooded Devil of one of the 72 Pillars of the Underworld, and in conclusion I suppose this has no effect on you whatsoever," Rias explained, that last bit sounding more like a question.

Y/n nodded, "Yeah, I don't know anything about what the Devils have done or anything in the past regarding them."

"Oh, then I suppose a lesson is in order," Rias said with a smile.

Y/n thought for a moment and nodded, "Yeah, if you want. Normally I would read a book with that history, but I won't stop you from explaining."

Rias' smile grew, and she started by explaining the Great War that occurred centuries ago between the Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils. Many were lost on all three sides of this war, spanning for years, yet no side ever wanted to give up. One of the consequences of this war caused the Demons from their realm to break free of seals that were in place to protect the humans. Humans back then were in turmoil with these beasts appearing seemingly out of nowhere, and did their best to repel their forces. Humanity seemed to be outmatched, and would quickly face extinction at the hands of the demons. That was until one Devil left the Great War, and turned his gaze to face the demons threatening the extermination of humanity, Sparda. He was one of the oldest and most powerful Devils that existed within the Devil Hierarchy, being one of the Original Lucifer's closest Generals. Sparda sent his armies to combat the Demons on every front, assisting humanity at every turn of the Great War. In the final days before Sparda disappeared, he had successfully sealed the Demons back into the Demonworld, but at the cost of him not returning to the Underworld.
