The airport, still wrapped in predawn hush, welcomed Imani like a silent confidante. At 4 am, the departure gate awaited her, a portal to a new chapter. Before taking that step, she sent Jobe a message, the words carrying the weight of a thousand unspoken emotions. 'Bye, Jobe.'
Jobe, restless throughout the night with thoughts of Imani leaving, received the message like a punch to the gut. In his room, shrouded in darkness, he clutched his phone. The room became a witness to his silent struggle as tears streamed down his face.
Unable to contain the flood of emotions, Jobe bawled his eyes out, each sob echoing the depth of his sorrow. He bit his lip, attempting to stifle the sound, mindful of not waking his dad. The room, once a sanctuary, became a theater of silent heartache as Jobe grappled with the reality of Imani's departure.
