Yunjin only nods. It really wasn't an argument at all. It was more of Yunjin confronting the president about all the stupid things she did.
And judging from the friendliness and the way Chaewon laughs, Yunjin is quite sure that she made the older girl at least pleased by her sudden action.
It was the only validation she needed. She didn't care about what the others would say and tell her. She didn't care if they flipped the story around and made her the villain.
All she had to receive was Chaewon's approval, and she would just be fine with that.
Who even cares about their own image anymore? Yunjin doesn't.
"Do you think I went a bit overboard? Was I being too harsh? Or ... maybe too mean? Too-"
Chaewon cuts her off immediately when her tone starts to become increasingly scared and warry.
"You did just fine." Yunjin immediately shuts her mouth, and Chaewon smiles at her so gently that Yunjin's worries have quickly faded away.
"I think you did really great," she chuckles before reaching out and patting Yunjin's hand gently, "You were able to do something that none of us had the guts to do, and to me, that's something to be proud of."
Never in Yunjin's life did she ever think that Kim Chaewon would ever compliment her, let alone look her straight in the eyes and tell her she did great while patting her hand?
It was too much. Too much was happening in one day, and sure, Yunjin didn't know how to handle it, but she was willing to take everything in if it meant she'd be overwhelmed with Chaewon's sweet presence and nothing else.
She's more than willing to start a fight, confront anyone, and argue with someone who had done Chaewon wrong so that she could get acknowledged by her again.
Yunjin felt pathetic, but she was happy at the same time.
The corners of Yunjin's mouth slowly curled up, and Chaewon didn't miss it. The younger girl looked shy and embarrassed, but at the same time, she looked pleased.
And Chaewon laughed at her, thinking her reaction was funny.
The older girl didn't even know why she would see Yunjin as a threat when she was just a shy but also loud person who would bring everyone justice if needed.
She's brave and strong. She's not scared to be told that she is wrong. She accepts every criticism thrown her way, and she listens.
She's gentle, soft, and understanding.
She's everything that Chaewon isn't, and the older girl knows it well. She won't deny that she's jealous of Yunjin anymore.
It's just how it should be. She needs to accept that Yunjin is better in a lot of things. Even things that Chaewon thought that she, alone, was the master of.
But now that she's looking at Yunjin with her strong image but also tired eyes that need a break as much as Chaewon does- she understands now why people think highly of her.
Chaewon understands now that Yunjn-
She smiles up at the younger girl, "You really are a good person, aren't you?" She whispers.
Yunjin let out a surprised, airy laugh, leaning back on her seat as she slowly shook her head, "Well, that's what people say."
"Are you not?"
Yunjin settles with a warm and soft smile, eyes tired but filled with emotions, "I'm just trying to be."
That's the only thing Chaewon needed to hear to confirm that, indeed, Yunjin was a good person.
