No one knew what else Chaewon was doing. Was she acting as well while singing? Or maybe even dancing? Everyone was actually clueless and curious.
Especially Yunjin.
Chaewon would stop in between, and the president's voice would be heard. But her voice would be a bit muffled.
However, they can clearly hear the president's voice rising. She sounded mad, and all they could do was exchange glances at one another.
None of them knew if Chaewon would be alright out there.
All her friends know what Chaewon has been up to for the past few weeks. She's been tirelessly working and doing all her homework so that she can pass on time.
And on top of that, she has to attend rehearsals.
Sunghoon let out a sigh when they all heard the president's voice rising even louder.
"When will this end? Chaewon unnie needs a break." Wonyoung whispers, and Sakura shrugs. They all look concerned.
Knowing that Chaewon was really tired, she didn't need all of this. All she needs is to go home and rest.
But they can't really do anything. It would be unfair for the others if Chaewon gets a break and the others are here rehearsing.
Chaewon knows this well. Which is why she still tries to attend even if she's in need of a long break.
"We can't say anything... That's the president. No one goes against her." Sieun mumbles.
At that moment, Yunjin sat down on the couch beside Minju. Minju didn't look at her; she just sat quietly as they listened to the president's voice.
"Are you just going to let this pass?" Minju finally turns and looks at Yunjin.
They meet eyes. Minju looks confused, while Yunjin looks concerned.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm just saying that- Chaewon unnie needs a break. She doesn't need the president to be shouting at her like that."
Minju's lips formed a line. She looked hesitant to say anything. Yunjin doesn't judge.
"Well, it's not like we can do anything about it..." Minju looks down at her hands. Fidgeting and fiddling.
"We can do something about it. None of us are just brave enough to do anything."
Minju huffs, "Of course. It's the president that you're going against. I don't think people would be brave enough to go against her."
Yunjin's brows furrowed.
She just doesn't understand why they can't stand up for Chaewon.
So what if they're about to go against the president? It's not like something bad would happen if they do.
Yunjin has been keeping her emotions at bay. But deep inside her, there is a volcano ready to explode.
She was very close to having an argument with the president. Yunjin thinks she's not leader-like.
She didn't have any of these qualities. Sure, she may just seem like she is strict because she is passionate about theater, but Yunjin senses something different.
The president was too mean. Too rude. Too disrespectful.
She gets under Yunjin's skin, and she rarely gets that feeling from anyone.
It's also because of the fact that she always scolds Yunjin and calls her names.
If that was her way of leading, Yunjin thinks she doesn't fit the role. Her actions and words are always unnecessary.
