Sperantia hopped onto her shoulder, her small wings fluttering as she settled in. Dave and Daleyza exchanged a worried glance, and Andy zoned out, lost in thought.

Daleyza spoke up, her voice measured. "The Darkness is a powerful force, Lilith. It's been growing stronger and more aggressive. We don't know what it wants or where it came from, but we know it's dangerous."

As Lilith nodded, I felt a shiver run down my spine. "I know. I've seen it firsthand. But I can't help feeling like there's more to it, like there's something driving it."

Dave leaned back, his eyes narrowing. "You think there's a reason behind its destruction?"

She hesitated, unsure of her answer. "I don't know, but I intend to find out."

"I've been having these strange dreams," Lilith added, "like there's something trying to communicate with me."

My eyes widened. "You think it's trying to send you a message?"

She nodded. "I do. But I don't know what it means yet."

Dave suddenly spoke up, his voice low and mysterious.

"There are old children's tails about The Darkness. It talked of its power, its purpose, its tale of destruction. But nothing of its end, or how to rid our world of it."

We all turned to him, intrigued. "What do you mean?" Daleyza asked, leaning forward.

Dave's eyes seemed to gleam with a secret knowledge. "The ancient ones believed that The Darkness was a harbinger of change. That it was sent to usher in a new era."

I felt a shiver run down my spine. "A new era? What do you mean?"

Dave leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. "Some say it's the end of the world as we know it. Others say it's a chance for rebirth. But one thing is certain - The Darkness is back."

The group fell silent, pondering the weight of Dave's words. The wind picked up, rustling the leaves of the nearby trees, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were being watched.

As we finished our sandwiches, Daleyza spoke up, her voice filled with determination. "We need to find out more about The Darkness and its motivations. Lilith, have you had any other dreams or visions that could help us understand?"

Lilith nodded thoughtfully. "I've had flashes of a figure, tall and imposing, with eyes that seem to burn with an inner fire. But I can't quite make out their faces."

Andy, the young boy, looked down at his feet, his eyes avoiding the group. "I...I don't know if I can help. I was forced to side with The Darkness. I don't like to talk about it."

Lilith's eyes narrowed at Andy, her expression cold. "You sided with The Darkness? How could you do that? After everything he's done, you chose to help the enemy?"she said, her voice dripping with disdain. I put my hand around her to try and keep her from attacking the poor boy.

Andy's eyes faltered, his face reddening and eyes filled with shame. "I was scared," he muttered. "I didn't know what else to do."

Lilith snorted. "You should have thought about that, and the consequences your choice would have on the world!"

Dave and Daleyza exchanged a glance, but said nothing. I didn't know Andy as well as I wanted to, but they could see the fear and shame in his eyes. After a few minutes of silent glaring Daleyza stepped in, her voice calm and mediating. "Lilith, we don't know the full story here. Let's not judge Andy without hearing him out."

I felt a pang of sadness and understanding for Andy, knowing that he must have gone through a traumatic experience. The sky turned dark, the wind howled, and the trees creaked ominously, as if echoing the darkness that Andy had faced.

But Lilith's anger and disappointment were palpable, her body tense and rigid. "I-I need some time to process this," Lilith said, her voice wavering but firm. "I can't be around him right now."

Andy nodded, his eyes filling with tears. "I understand," he whispered looking down. Dave puts an arm around him and Sperantia flutter over to him.

"Ok we will explain the truth tomorrow." Daleyza said putting away the items. "Let's get back to the village," Daleyza said softly. "We need to gather more information and come up with a plan to stop The Darkness before it's too late."

Dave, and I nodded in agreement, Andy keeping his head down and Lilith still silently staring daggers.

As we descended the hill, the darkening sky and picking up wind carried an unsettling energy that raised the hairs on the back of my neck. A chill ran down my spine, and fear suddenly gripped my heart. Andy and Lilith seemed to feel it too, their eyes wide with terror. Even Dave and Daleyza, standing tall, sensed something was off. Lilith, Andy, and I shook with palpable fear. Lilith's eyes were wide with terror, her hands trembling. I felt my face pale, my lips quivering. Andy's eyes darted back and forth, his breath coming in short gasps. Dave and Daleyza exchanged a determined glance. But the three of us were paralyzed with fear, unable to move or speak. Whatever was closing in, I lost hope of escaping the danger.

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Sorry it took so long. I had a really hard time with this chapter. I would go as far to say that chapters 6, 7, and 8 were pre-written a day after chapter 5 was posted. Yea it's been a struggle. By the way I changed The Darkness from 'it' to he. It's just easier to type. Instead of switching keyboard pages every two letters.

(Is 6 days a long time??)

Well as always please
