Riley could feel eyes on her. She was alarmed. The street was deserted and she wasn't sure if she would be able to outrun whoever was keeping an eye on her.

This wasn't the first time she felt like she was being followed. She knew better, of course. Knew better than to step outside the house in the dark or to come back late at night without someone to keep her company. It was one of the house rules and she was not one to break them.

A night out with Sheila always caused trouble. After coming out from the movie theatre, catching a late night show, they realised that her car had a flat tire. The small town did not have a lot to offer in terms of late night car repair services and so they had to hang out in the parking lot until Sheila's younger brother Neil could come over and pick them up. He said he'll arrange for someone to pick up the car tomorrow.

Neil was kind enough to drop Riley at home. Or as close to home as he could afford to.

There were rules that this town followed. And Riley wasn't going to break them anytime soon.
