Chapter 03

Amora's Pov

"Okay.. I don't need your eyes. I need your ears. So, listen up.."  We are on our 3rd Subject which was the favorite Physical Sci before our 20 minutes break. Everyone was eager to learn neither am I. Like I said, I was listening when someone slipped a paper at my armchair. Nilingon ko kung sino ito. It was Ree. Tinaasan ko ito ng kilay nagtatanong. Nginuso niya agad si Red sa likod niya. I rolled my eyes at him before opening. 

Meet me at rooftop.

I look at him and he was looking at me. So, I mouthed the word why. Lumingon muna ako sa harap pero nagsusulat pa rin naman si Ma'am. Nagkibit-balikat ito at ngumisi mukhang nang-aasar.

"Do you guys understand?" What?

But we still answered. "Yes, Ma'am."

Nahuli ko pa ang nanliliit na mata ni Ree bago itinuon ang pansin sa harapan. Kahit nasa harapan ang atensyo ko. My mind wasn't. What does he want? Will he actually tell Ree or any of his friends that I went to the hospital? Because of thinking many scnarios. Hindi ko namalayan na tumunog na pala ang Bell namin. "Prepare for a short activity tomorrow."

We all stood up. "Good bye, Ma'am. Be the Artist of your own Art! " Cringe, right? Pagkalagay ko ng bag sa balikat ay pasimple kong nilingon si Red. But my heart jumped because he was already looking at me. Pinanlakihan ko siya ng mata at nginisian niya ko. Lalapitan ko palang sana siya pero lumitaw agad ang mukha ni Ree sa akin. She smiled sweetly. "Ano? Lunch?"

I was about to answer her when Red put his arms to my shoulder. "Kayo na muna, Ree. Kakausapin ko lang siya."

Bakas ang pagtataka ni Ree. "About?"

"Group Project." Pagsagot ko. "Yup, siya yung magiging partner ko sa mixed media sa DFIA ." Sunod naman ni Red. Tinabig ko ang pagkaakbay niya sa akin. "Pero di pa sure. Kaya mauna ka na mag-lunch."

She smiled. "Okay, you two." Tumalikod na siya at nagsimula ng maglakad. Pagkaalis niya ay mabilis kong hinila si Samuel papuntang rooftop. Our school has an elevator. Dala ng lunch time kaya puno ng sumakay kami. We didn't spoke until we get there but he kept his grin on his face.  Binilisan ko ang paglakad hanggang makarating kami.

When I entered the rooftop. "So, now what?"

"Easy." Hingal niyang sabi.  He opened the two buttons from his uniform and sat on the floor. Tinuro niya ang space sa tabi niya. "Duh. I'm wearing skirts." Nakapamewang kong sabi. He quickly got up and found a monoblock chair for me, nagulat pa ga ako ng hinawakan niya iyon."It's not hot." Nilagay niya ito sa harapan ko and suddenly he gave me his coat.

I looked aways before accepting and sitting at the chair infront of him. Bumalik siya sa pwesto niya at nakatingala sa akin. He then, smiled. Huh. "Are you onto something? Bakit kailangan natin mag-usap?"

"Ree's birthday is coming." He opened. "Help me surprise her." Surprise? That's it? "Then what?"

"Help me." He seriously said. His thick eyebrows aligning eith each other. "Yes, help you to--"

"Help me confess my feelings for her."

My lips quickly closed. Oh. "Oh." I reacted.

"You, um.. like her." It took me seconds to process it. He doesn't give a fuck on telling my secret to Renee. He wants me to help him because Samuel.. likes her. "Yes, I like her."

"Why me?" I asked. It was too silent. "When we were kids, I was aloof to everyone. I didn't like talking to anyone. But she was so persistent to make me play with her doll house." He chuckled. "She did everything. She gave me toys, visited my room everyday. Told me a lot of funny jokes. And she," I looked at him when he stopped talking. "She managed to break down my walls."

"I chose you because Ree shows you her other side."

Huh? "I don't get it."

"Ree is close to perfect. She was trained and so used to it. But when she's with you, I felt like she shows you who she really is and that's rare. You ca see the true Renee, just like I did when we were just kids." Samuel can really get into my nerves even tho he doesn't even do anything. I hate the way he stares because I can't get my eyes off his eyes or face rather.

No! Yeah, I don't like his stares because I hate him and I don't wanna lose to him. Not because I have a thing for him. "Okay, I'll help you."

Napatayo ito. He looks excited and that made me smile.. a bit. "Really?"

"Anything for her. She's been so dear to me. I want the best for her." Tumayo na ako at nagsimulang maglakad. I didn't know he followed me until he spoke. "Let's take the stairs, so we can chat."

Lumingon ako. "Chat about?"

"The plans?" He questioned my question. "I'll just send it to you plus  don't you dare annoy me or I'll back out to whatever this is." I need to take advantage of the situation. Para naman mawala ang mga bad bitch sa buhay ko.

 I continued walking, so does he."Bawal talaga? Hanep kasi yang mukha pag naiinis."

"Samuel." I warned him.

He then, gave me a smile. Fuck. It made me want to smile too. "Okay, okay. Chill." I was frozen when he held my arms. Our skin made an intact. I'm so weird today, gosh. Agad ko itong binawi. "What? Let's take the stairs. For sure puno ang elevator."

I crossed my arms. "I forgot to tell you. Whatever this is will end if one thing will happen. " Kumunot ang noo niya. "I can't get tired or be tired. So, you take the stairs. I'm gonna take the elevator. Ciao, Samuel." Tumalikod at ngumiti. He's not that bad, after all. Huwag niya lang ako bwisitin.

"Good afternoon, class."

"Good afternoon, Sir Enriquez." We greeted in unison. Our E-Tech Teacher for this sem. He asked us to sit. "Announcement, you can use my time and the whole afternoon to assigned tasks for the upcoming foundation week." Agad namang umingay ang klase namin. Kaya napilitan pumunta sa harap si Ree.

Ewan ko pero napatingin agad ako sa pwesto ni Samuel. He was looking at Renee with a smile, once again. " Okay, Arts and Design!" She said loudly with authority. Napatahimik naman niya ang lahat. She smiled sweetly. "We will be having a foundation week in 3 weeks. Firstly, we have Pop Quiz, Film Project, Pageant, Games and Booths. Further announcements pa yung iba but we need to choose our Muse and Escort for the Pageant. They need to register tomorrow Friday."

" For the  Short Film Project, the theme will be Sacrifice. We can choose any Genre. The passing of Script will be a week before." I can totally help with this one. I love Short Films. Also, I can lend them my equipments. Nilagay niya ang notebook sa lamesa at tumingin sa amin. " Since, majority agreed that we can change the Muse and Escort for every event. Now, the nomination for Escort is now open."

Rain, the seat infront of me raise her hand. " I nominate Red!" Sabi niya at humiyaw naman ang lahat. Pati ang mga lalaki panay pamumusit kay Samuel. 

"Siya nalang this year! Next time nalang yung iba."

"Dabess ka dyan ate ko! Sana pumayag."

"Wala ng may gusto? Red, are you willing?" Tanong ni Ree. Yumuko na ako and just doodle on my notebook. Sacrifice? I guess I'll brainstorm later. "Sure." Humiyaw ang lahat.

"Go, my idol."

"Waala na, itabi niyo. Pumayag na this year."

"If only I can choose my partner." Muli sa pagkayuko ay lumingon ako sa pwesto niya. I saw him glancing at me. Or baka namalik- mata lang? Umiwas agad ako ng tingin at kay Renee nalang humarap. "Hmm. Sure. If the class will aggree to it."

"Oh my, sino kaya? Jowa niya?"

The whole class was anticipating about his answer. I know who will it be naman. He'll chose Renee. This pageant will take a lot of practice, it will make the two more romantically close. Then, he won't be needing my help.

"I'll choose Amora."
