Zuko's POV

I arrived at the Southern Air Temple by airship in the afternoon. Upon landing, I couldn't help but notice how grand the refurbished air temple looked compared to when I first saw them all those years ago. It brought my mind to ease seeing that my efforts to restore balance and reconstruct the world were working.

"Sifu Hotman!" I heard a deep voice say.

I knew it was Aang, as he was the only one who called me that, but I couldn't help but feel perplexed by how much his voice changed." Aang it's good to see you", I chuckled.

"How've you been my friend"

"You know, putting rocks here and there, and restoring culture. Just the usual"

"Of course I see you've been quite the busy man", I laughed.

"I'll have one of the acolytes show you to your room if that's okay. I have to catch up on a few things before tomorrow when everyone else arrives."

"Actually if it's okay I would like to explore a bit and one of my servants can take my luggage to my room if that's okay".

"Sure, have fun", he exclaimed.

I walked into the forest finding myself getting lost in the beauty of the bamboo as the sunlight peaked through creating little flurries of delicate light. I found a spot to meditate and practice deep breathing to clear my mind in the middle of the forest on the ground. That was until I heard the rustling of water near me. I began to follow the sound which eventually led to this pristine lake in the midst of the forest. The place was very tranquil and I began the scan the area, my eyes landed upon some blue water tribe clothes that were familiar.

As I looked over to the lake I began to search the lake for any signs of her until my eyes landed on some dark brown hair floating in the middle of the lake. I thought she was swimming underwater, so I decided to wait for her to come up. It wasn't until I saw an obscene amount of bubbles erupt and float to the surface that I began to worry. Her hair began to sink further and further under water. It was at that moment I realized how long she had been under. My heart began to pound in my chest as I began to notice she wasn't coming up. I quickly jumped into the lake and swam over to where I saw her floating I went underwater and saw she was unconscious. Fear began to take over my mind scared that she had been under too long. Rushing back to shore I began to lay her down on the sand, she was still warm which was a good sign, but she was still unconscious. I began to pump her chest and blow air into her lungs for what felt like minutes upon minutes. Finally, her deep blue eyes shot open revealing an expression of shock and fear as she began coughing up the water from the lake.

I noticed the bloodshot red look in her eyes and wondered if had she been crying. What happened? Who did this to her? I became infuriated at the thought of who could have hurt her to the point where she almost-

"Zu-Zuko" she muttered in a raspy voice, interrupting my thoughts.

"Katara what happened, who did this to you?" I yelled startling her a bit.
