SONG: HEARTLESS BY THE WEEKND My small heels clicked on the floor as I entered the dining hall in my house wearing my full uniform and ready for breakfast. "Miss jia has arrived" the lady spoke before I walked into the capacious hall with a simple, long rimmed ovl dining table. There I saw the whole family eating rice and steak at 7am in the morning.
Sitting at the dining table I turned to my assistant "what's my schedule for today"
Assistant Kim then spoke: "Young miss today you have 2 English classes with mrs son, 1 math class and a Korean language class with mr dae, tutoring from 5-7pm and a study group with Miss Park and Miss Kang at 9pm" she said as she smiled at me
"Cancel the study session" my father said without looking up from his plate
"Yes Sir" assistant Kim said pulling out her iPad and typing in the password "Don't cancel it" I say looking up at my father as he is still eating his food
He finally looks up at me and stops briefly before saying "I'm cancelling it and that's final."
"Why" I say in a curious tone looking down holding in my anger because I knew what he was going to say
"My buisness partner and his son are coming over for dinner tonight, be ready" He speaks I slam both of my hands on the table startling everybody and shaking the table causing a loud noise "you're selling me at this point. This is the 6th "business partners son" this month. Just how many business partners do you have." I say through gritted teeth
"Calm down now ji-a" wan soon says in a playful tone "just sit down and eat so that you can have enough energy to argue with father later"
I sat down and took a glance over at ha yeong seo, my disgusting stepmother that thinks she's entitled to everything. She notices me staring and takes one look at me and says "we need to find you a rich husband so you can just move out and stop annoying us" she says chuckling a little
"How about you move, art-theif." I say back in all confidence while eating my food
The atmosphere gets more and more thicker by the second as Mo wan joon decides to break the silence "It's 7am let's eat." He says as everyone gets back to their food forgetting the remark I made
I chuckle a little and then spoke "who suggested steak this early in the morning?" Assistant Kim looked at me nervously before answering "your stepmother."
My expression changed from a laugh to annoyed. I called for the chef. "If you ever get me shit like this ever again, I'll fire you." I said as a grabbed my sister in-law's red wine and poured it onto my meal. "Yes young Miss" he said as he looked down
"That's abit too far don't you think?" Mo seojin says as he takes one AirPod out and looks at the scene happening in front of him
"Nobody asked you." I said as I grabbed his phone and shoved it into the glass cup filled with water in front of him
"HEY." He said trying to save his already-drowned phone and looking at it in horror
"Couldn't go one morning without causing drama could you" wan joon says as looks at me and stands up angrily and heads to his room with his wife still eating
"Whatever, I'm off to school" I say "accidentally tipping my plate off the edge of the table "Oops." I say smiling and walking away
Walking while a line of people stand by every side of me to bow to me just for walking isn't uncommon. It happens every day in this house, they're so extra. I see my driver and get in the car ready to go to my school. Just then someone calls out my name
"Ji-a" I step out of the car and notice baek soojin aka my bitchy brother wan joon's wife. It's a shame that she's his wife, she could do so much better.
"You forgot your bag." She said handing it out to me "Thank you unnie" I said awkwardly smiling at her. It must be hell being married to that annoying guy.
