Script 16: Rewind

And she knew she made a great choice when she opened the doors to the gymnasium and she was greeted by the theater club.

That was where she met Sieun, Sakura, and Yena. She recognized them from the play; they were Chaewon's first friends in the academy.

When classes started, Sunghoon came along. So did Wonyoung with Yuri.

And then finally Kim Minju.

As the year went on, more clubs were added, and Chaewon gained more friends. Yu Jimin from the journalism club and cheerleading team was there.

Lee Heeseung who joined a little while after with Park Jongseong.

Lee Chaeyoung and Bae Sumin whom Chaewon met through Jimin during lunch period.

And many more.

At first, Chaewon did have a hard time fitting in. She was shy- she didn't know how to approach people.

Even everyone at the theater club had difficulty getting close to her as she would always be too quiet.

Chaewon struggled a lot with blending in.

It took her a few months before she could actually feel comfortable around her theater friends. She was less formal and less awkward afterward.

And she finally fit right in.

Chaewon knew that SCE Academy would be her home for the next few years.

Her second year in the academy is where it became different, though.

It was a month before the start of the new school year. Chaewon had yet to move on from summer vacation, but the theater club was already preparing for their performance since the new school year was about to start.

It was like a tradition to have a theater performance for the potential students; this time, Chaewon would be a part of it.

She may still want to spend the last month of the summer huddled up in her room and sleeping all day long but she couldn't help but feel giddy and excited about her first-ever performance in front of random people.

As she helped with preparing in the summer heat, Chaewon heard the other members talking.

"Have you heard about the new students this year?"

"When I was called into the office, they told us that there was a particular student that they wanted to have in the academy."

"Who?? Is it a celebrity?"

"Kind of? Apparently, they're a trained Opera singer from New York!"

"Ooh, a foreigner?"

"No, I heard they were Korean. We have to perform really well this year if we want to impress them."

Chaewon couldn't help but think about it. Is a trained opera singer interested in their academy? It could just be a rumor.

She and her newfound friend group all gathered around during their break, she couldn't help but bring up the topic.

"Is it true that a trained Opera singer is planning to transfer here?" Everyone turned to look at her.

"Where'd you heard that from?" Yena raises an eyebrow at her. She must have not heard about it.

"I just heard it from the others." Chaewon shrugged and Sieun snapped her fingers, "Ah! Are you talking about the one from New York?"

Wonyoung gasped at the mention, "Oh, I heard that one, too! I thought it was just nothing."
