1ST VERSE:

Heartbreak takes quite a toll

Take a seat, they're taking roll

Enjoy the ride, you're on patrol

Being in love was my goal

But it turned out to be a no-show

Well, it's my fault, Yeah I should've known

CHORUS:

And the stairs make quite the row

Take the shoe back, I rather do this on my own

Cinderella's heading back to being Miss Independent

Fuck it, I don't need love; love needs me

Next one that loves me better adore me eternally

If you know, you know what I mean

I'm moving on to bigger, better things

POST-CHORUS:

No, I don't need a prince

In fact the Prince needs me

Goddamn, the prince needs saving

Well look at that, the Prince needs me

But I'm moving on to bigger, better things

( Sorry not sorry )

2ND VERSE:

And the ballroom doesn't feel the same

Hang the disco ball, I'm prepared for fame

Play out the melodies, I'll bring along my dancing feet

But honey, I'm omitting that glass slipper shoe

Ain't it quite the shame it all broke down so soon?

Oh, I could've been good for you

But 'once upon a time' is done with

It turns out I could provide my own happiness

Currently living 'Happily ever after' cause it is what it is

CHORUS:

And the stairs make quite the row

Take the shoe back, I rather do this on my own

Cinderella's heading back to being Miss Independent

I don't need love; love needs me

Next one that loves me better adore me eternally

If you know, you know what I mean

I'm moving on to bigger, better things

POST-CHORUS:

No, I don't need a prince

In fact the Prince needs me

Goddamn, the prince needs saving

Well look at that, the Prince needs me

But I'm moving on to bigger, better things

( Sorry not sorry )

BRIDGE:

It was never my responsibility to forsee that the Prince succeeds

Sure, the Prince made me feel like royalty and like a worthy Darling

But now it don't mean a thing, no it don't mean a thing

Now it's time for me to shine like the star I truly am

The Good girl in me grew up and I don't give a damn

Yeah, this is who I am and it means everything to me

Aren't I a queen? Yeah, I'm glowing, glowing

CHORUS:

And the stairs make quite the row

Take the shoe back, I rather do this on my own

Cinderella's heading back to being Miss Independent

I don't need love; love needs me

Next one that loves me better adore me eternally

If you know, you know what I mean

I'm moving on to bigger, better things

POST-CHORUS/OUTRO:

No, I don't need a prince

In fact the Prince needs me

Goddamn, the prince needs saving

Well look at that, the Prince needs me

But I'm moving on to bigger, better things ( Sorry not sorry )

Yeah, this is who I am and it means everything to me

Aren't I a queen? Yeah, I'm glowing, glowing

Cinderella has got to go, and with that I temporarily conclude this songwriting chapter ( until 2026 and 2027 when the actual FD album will be released!! ) Farewell Faded Daydreams, welcome Tainted Illusions. I wrote this at the start of my y2k girlboss era in which I started to listen to 2000's pop queenies ( Britney and Kelly especially!! ), so I was inspired by the carefree attitude in their songs and wanted to write a confident bop to pick myself up from heartbreak!

And she lived happily ever after... the end.
