"The stars are pretty tonight" She stated and I smiled

"Not as pretty as your eyes" I complimented and she laughed

"That was so cheesy"

"Was it?"

"Yes" She laughed even more

It was the most divine sound I had heard all day.

"Cute but cheesy" She added

We had just finished our dinner, which she fortunately enjoyed. It took a lot of effort to prepare it all on my own but my compensation came when she rushed the whole thing down.

We sat enjoying each other's presence as we chatted the time away. I was at peace and didn't want this to end anytime soon.

"I hope you don't mind that I brought the guys up here"

"Oh it's fine, it's a free space. The more, the merrier"

"How did you manage to plan all these though?" She asked

"Well like I said, I had a lot of help. After our conversation earlier today, I asked Jason to take you home then the planning began. Shred escorted me to get groceries and a dress, he called Sheila and told her about the plan, she gave us your size and told us your favourite flower, Matt and Jason helped me with the lights and setting the cards in the right places. After I was done cooking, Shred helped me carry everything up here and we decorated together " He explained

"And the jewelry?"

"They caught my eyes while I was getting the dress, they complimented each other"

"I can't believe Sheila didn't tell me anything"

"We made her keep it a secret, it'd no longer be a surprise if you knew" I voiced and she hummed in understanding

"Thank you so much for all of these. Why did you do it though?"

"Because you mean a lot to me and it hurts that you don't realize that. I'm not saying this so you can say it back, I just really want you to know" I replied without hesitation

"Oh" She appeared speechless

"I'm sorry for everything" I added and she smiled

"I'm sorry too, Jason's your friend and you wanted to be there for him, I get it."

"So... Does this mean the agreement's still on?" I didn't have to explain any further because she knew what I meant

"You really are determined to stop me from speaking to you about God or is there some other reason?" She asked with a teasing smile and I laughed

"I like being around you" I shrugged

"Alright, the game's still on" she concluded and I sighed in triumph

"Come on" I said as I stood on my feet

"Where are we going?" She asked

I tapped my phone screen and a soft melody began playing. It was a short piano melody I found and have kept listening to on repeat.

"Will you do me the honour milady?" I gave a little bow and stretched my hand to her

She giggled and gently placed her hand in mine, I helped her up and twirled her around. She laughed and my heart soared in delight, I pulled her closer to me and placed a hand on her waist, she hesitantly held on to my shoulder as we swayed to the music.
