Script 13: Nothing but everything

Start from the beginning

"You're mean. You're fucking stupid and numb. I like you, Kim Chaewon."

She actually couldn't believe that she just said those words out loud. Where Chaewon had heard it clearly.

But Chaewon said nothing and it scared Yunjin. Why wasn't she saying anything? Damn it, Kim Chaewon, say something!

And when she turns around, Chaewon is there, leaning against Yunjin's bed, sleeping soundly.

The redhead stared at her for a while, maybe if she waited, Chaewon would finally stop pretending to sleep.

But she didn't. She was really asleep. Yunjin sighed, defeated. At least Chaewon didn't hear all the things she just said.

From calling her mean, stupid, and numb... to confessing that she actually likes her.

Yunjin stood up from her seat and slowly made her way towards Chaewon, crouching down and slowly putting her arm around Chaewon's nape, the other, under her legs as Yunjin gently picked her up bridal style.

She laid Chaewon on her bed and gently draped her blanket over her.

She looked peaceful like this. Where her face is relaxed and there are no negative expressions.

She knew she should wake the older girl up but she didn't have the heart to do so. Chaewon looked really tired, she had looked that way from the start of rehearsals.

Yunjin thinks it's best just to let her sleep for a while, she'll just wake her up later when it's time for her to leave.

The taller girl then occupied Chaewon's previous spot on the floor, leaning against her bed and just basking in the silence.

It was peaceful like this.

She realized then that she didn't need Chaewon to know about her feelings. Having this sort of barrier between them is perfectly fine.

Yunjin shouldn't dare reach out to Chaewon and cross that barrier.

It's better that way.

Chaewon woke up to someone softly humming, mumbling the lyrics quietly before continuing to hum again.

She slowly opens her eyes, blinking a few times before focusing on what's in front of her. She's staring up at the ceiling and it doesn't take long before she realizes that she is in a different place.

This isn't her room, not only does she not have two flat ceiling lights, but she also does not have small posters and drawings on her walls.

She remembers what happened earlier, the props for the play, the rehearsals, and Yunjin's parents.

She's in Yunjin's room. She remains calm as she lets everything sink in.

Since when did she fall asleep? And since when did she get on Yunjin's bed?

All her thoughts were answered when she heard humming again. She turns her head to the side and she immediately spots Yunjin sitting on the floor, with her back against the bed. All Chaewon could see was the back of her head.

Yunjin had her headphones around her neck like she was listening to something but Chaewon could barely hear the song if she were even listening to any.

She was humming a song that Chaewon couldn't recognize. Or was her brain still buffering? She doesn't know.

Chaewon has known for a long time that Yunjin sings very well. She's a trained Opera singer, of course, she can sing. She's good at that. She writes songs, too. Chaewon has known all these facts for a while now. A year.
