Script 13: Nothing but everything

Start from the beginning

"We're already here." Chaewon stood up and held onto Yunjin's arm.

In all honesty, Chaewon wanted to leave. Yunjin was offering to take her home anyway but there was just something about her today that made her want to stay.

It was the drive to discover what Yunjin is like around other people. If she acts the same with them like how she acts with Chaewon's friends.

"Gas is expensive." She adds and Yunjin hums, "Right."

As soon as they enter the house, Yunjin's mom greets them. Giving Chaewon all her attention, and asking her about many things.

Chaewon was surprised, she's just like Yunjin. Loud and friendly. She could get along with everyone.

Not once did Yunjin's mom stop talking to her. She was a sweet woman and despite Chaewon being cranky the whole day, talking to Yunjin's mom had slightly lightened up her mood.

"Oh, Yunjin told us about you before!" Yunjin's mom suddenly said while they were eating.

"You two were in the theater club, right? She loved that club so much!" Her mom added. And Yunjin was just preparing for the worst.

"She said you were a wonderful performer and she doesn't regret joining the club," Yunjin could only slowly close her eyes before stuffing her face with food.

Chaewon hummed, "Did she, now?" She asked in almost a teasing tone before glancing at Yunjin who refused to look up from her plate.

The short-haired girl had a hard time believing that, but she'd never protest and tell Yunjin's parents what was on her mind.

"I was even surprised she didn't join the club again as soon as we came back," Yunjin's dad pipes in, and Yunjin clenches her jaw.

"But I think she's doing well in her band already," Chaewon says with an innocent smile and both Yunjin's parents simultaneously agree.

"Is she doing well with rehearsals?" Yunjin bit her lip at her mom's question.

Maybe this is where Chaewon finally tells them how Yunjin sucks and she should just quit theater. Maybe she'll tell Yunjin's parents that she's better off doing band stuff than acting.

"She's doing great." Chaewon's words pierced her thoughts and she almost snapped her head up. "She's fitting in really well, I'm quite impressed."

Lies.

Yunjin can't help but think Chaewon might just be saying that in front of her parents. She never once told her any of that.

It was Kim Chaewon, anyway.

While Chaewon was entertaining all of Yunjin's parents' questions, she couldn't help but think that Yunjin was acting the same way.

All quiet and timid like she didn't want to be a part of the conversation. She only talks when it's no longer about her.

It's like she becomes small.

Why was she being like this? It frustrates Chaewon.

Why can't she be loud and annoying around Chaewon? Why can't she be obnoxious and tell corny jokes? Why can't she be herself with Chaewon?

It was making it harder for Chaewon to find out what was happening with Huh Yunjin. Not even in her own household could Chaewon figure out the meaning behind her actions.

Because she was still different as long as Chaewon was around.

Chaewon stays longer than she imagined she would. Just like the setting back at her place, they both end up in Yunjin's room.
