So she bites her tongue and starts packing her things. Maybe she can lie to her parents and say that Chaewon declined. That Chaewon and her family were busy with something.
Maybe any of those would work.
But as she was thinking about what she'd tell her parents, Sunghoon came up to her and stood right next to her.
"Hey." He greets and Yunjin nods, "Hey, Hoon."
"Chaewon seems a bit cranky, huh?" He says with a chuckle and Yunjin lifts her head, looks around, and sees Chaewon slowly packing her things and she shrugs, "I guess so."
"I'm surprised you two didn't get into an argument." Yunjin glances at him before glancing back down at her things.
"Why? Did you expect us to fight today or something?" Yunjin chuckles and Sunghoon shrugs with a grin, "Well, I thought since Chaewon looked like she was in a bad mood, maybe I should mentally prepare myself for her outburst."
Yunjin looks at Chaewon once more. It was a good decision to be extra careful around her today.
"I did notice. That's why I kept my distance." Yunjin mumbles, "My mom wanted me to invite her to dinner but luckily, she looks like she's not in the mood so I'm not even going to bother."
Sunghoon hummed as he looked at Chaewon and Yunjin back and forth. Well, asking Chaewon wouldn't hurt right? But then Sunghoon remembers who Huh Yunjin is in Chaewon's life and he becomes a bit hesitant about what he was planning to do.
Nevertheless, he built up enough courage to pat Yunjin's shoulder and say, "Don't you think a nice dinner would lighten up her mood?"
The redhead looked at him with a questioning look as she stood there, clueless about what Sunghoon was talking about. "What-?"
Before she could even ask Sunghoon a full question, he already started walking away from Yunjin.
The older girl didn't seem to care, though. So she continued fixing her stuff and then zipping up her bag as she pulled on the bag strap, testing the weight before Sunghoon finally came back with a sleepy-looking Chaewon following close behind him.
Yunjin almost froze in her spot when she saw Chaewon. Sunghoon had that teasing grin on his face and the redhead isn't sure what he's up to.
"Go on, noona. Tell Chaewon what you had in mind." He suddenly says. Gesturing for Yunjin to step forward and talk to Chaewon while he takes a few steps to the side, giving the two girls enough space to talk to each other.
Something about the way Sunghoon spoke made Yunjin think that he was messing with her.
She didn't have to look at him twice to confirm that.
"What?"
"What do you mean? Sunghoon said you had something to say," Chaewon said in an obviously tired voice.
She sounded like she could snap at Yunjin any second but at the same time, she sounded like she'd let everything pass.
"So get it over with so I can go home," Chaewon added and Yunjin threw Sunghoon a glare before he finally left and the only person Yunjin is with is Chaewon.
Yunjin decided to make this short. Considering Chaewon's condition and behavior, she'd probably just refuse to go anyway.
"My parents wanted to thank you and your family for letting me stay for a few hours." She started and Chaewon looked at her with those same eyes again.
Like she was inspecting her face again but this time, her eyes looked more sleepier.
"It's nothing." Chaewon waved her off, dropping her gaze to the ground as she did.
