"Kiana, I swear I'll be fine. I'm not going to let this affect me from attending school." I stood there staring at my older sister. She stood there with her hands on her hips, lips pouting at me in a worried manner. Me and my sister are very close, she basically raised me when our mom died. When I was about ten years old I was diagnosed with ADHD and Asperger's syndrome, my sister says she took me to see a child therapist because I wouldn't really socialize with kids my age and I would rather be alone. (True story)

Ever since then she has been afraid of me being bullied for this, so she had me home schooled. We recently moved to Forks from Texas, due to Kiana wanting to be close to her long distance boyfriend. I haven't meet him yet, nor do I know his name. However today is the day that I attend high school. I basically begged her to let me attend public school, I won't ever learn how to function in the real world if she doesn't give me the chance to. "I know Starla. I'm just worried for you."

Kiana looked at me with concern, her eyes filled with a mix of love and worry. She had always been my protector, shielding me from the harsh realities of the world. But deep down, I knew it was time for me to step out of my comfort zone and face the challenges head-on.

I took a deep breath, trying to convey my determination. "Kiana, I appreciate your concern, but I need to do this. I can't hide away forever. High school is an opportunity for me to grow, learn, and overcome my fears. I won't let this define me."

Her pouting lips softened into a small smile, and she reached out to squeeze my hand. "I know, Starla. I believe in you more than anyone else. You're strong, intelligent, and unique. Don't ever forget that. But promise me, if things get too overwhelming, you'll come to me. I'll always be here for you."

I nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude for having such a supportive sister. "I promise, Kiana. But I also need you to trust me. Trust that I can handle whatever comes my way. Trust that I will find my own path and learn to navigate the world in my own way."

Kiana's eyes glistened with tears as she hugged me tightly. "I do trust you, Starla. You're braver than you realize. Just remember, you are not defined by your condition. You are a bright star, capable of illuminating the world in your own unique way. My baby sister, when did you start growing up?"

Her words resonated within me, fueling my determination to face the challenges that awaited me at school. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I also knew that with Shanti's support and my own resilience, I could make it through.

As we released our embrace, I took a step forward, ready to embark on this new chapter of my life. "Thank you, Kiana. Thank you for always believing in me. I won't let you down."

With a final smile, Kiana whispered, "I know you won't, Starla. Now go, spread your wings and shine bright. Embrace the world, and let it embrace you."

With those words echoing in my mind, I walked out the door, ready to face the unknown, armed with the love and support of my sister. High school awaited, and I was determined to make it my own, one step at a time.
The walk to school wasn't long, it was very peaceful since I was left alone to my thoughts and minimal sounds.

As I walked towards the school, a mixture of excitement and nervousness filled my chest. The hallways were crowded with students chatting, laughing, and rushing to their classes. It was overwhelming, but I reminded myself that this was the first step towards my personal growth.

As I entered the bustling hallways, I could feel the curious gazes of my fellow students. Some gave me sympathetic looks, while others seemed intrigued by my presence. I could sense the whispers and hushed conversations as I passed by, but I focused on staying composed and maintaining my confidence.
