I Write Like a Poet

I was told I write like a poet,

Refusing all rules

That might encase me in a box.

Leave me with no creative freedom.

Without the voices of others telling me I'm doing it wrong

That I should sound more like a song.

My mind has no limitations

So why should my writing?

I guess this is a good thing,

I like bending the rules

And I like sharing my thoughts
.
Maybe that's how we should live.

Carefree and a little strange

But full of passion.
