Words or Weapons

They told me words were a weapon

Only to be used by a very select few

But I don't believe that's true

I believe words are a gift

Much greater than any

Of your 3 wishes

Words aren't weapons

They aren't guns,knives,or bombs

They are much bigger

More ruinous

Then any weapons you could design

For everyone can write

Anyone can speak

But for those select few

Words can destroy

They can wield this gift

With such strength

Not even the toughest soldier

Could get them to break

For this select few

could cause mayhem on Earth

That nobody could undo

They know this gift

They know their strength

But they keep it hidden

Like a secret safe

For they know if they spoke

They may just destroy

all that they loved

And all that was once before
