As I followed Sperantia a village came into view. It's got flowers everywhere and is extremely colorful. It has beautiful bright green and lush trees lining the paths.

"Sperantia! Slow down!" I yell as a trip down another hill once again

Sperantia stops in front of a building that says

Inn
6 coins a night

*Tweeeet, tweet*
"Oh. Sperantia we have a bit of a problem. I don't have any coins. How will we afford to stay here?"
*Tweet, tweeewtt'
"Oh we can pay in magic?"
'The bird nodds'
*Tewwet tweet!*
"You mean use magic to trick them! Sperantia that's not very kind."
"Oh alright, we pay with magic. Hmmm.... I think Illusion magic should do the trick."

'The bird nods in agreement'

As Sperantia and I enter the inn I cast an Illusion spell to create 6 gold coins.

"Mirage" I whisper as we walk in. The coins appear in my hands and I place them in my pocket.

The inn was a warm haven, its wooden beams and stone walls exuding a sense of history and comfort. Soft candlelight flickered, casting shadows on the walls. A fire crackled in the hearth, filling the air with the scent of wood smoke and baked bread. Plush blankets and pillows in earthy tones adorned the beds, inviting relaxation. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, making you feel like you'd stepped into a dear friend's embrace.

"Hello my friend! How are you today?" The lady at the counter says her voice is full of cheerfulness and her smile says the same. She is plump with long brown hair that has a hint of gold when it hits the light, she is dressed in a simple light purple dress with a white apron on top of it.

"I'm great, how are you?" I say not being able to stop a smile appears on my face as I look at her.

"I am positively fine, thanks for asking! What can I do for you?" She replies in her cheerey tone.

(Is cheerey even a word? I guess it is now XP)

"Well I am looking for a room for the night, and I know it sounds insane but my bird friend, Sperantia here led me to here." I spit out feeling discomfort from talking to another person.

"Oh well thank you Sperantia! The room will cost 6 coins for the night, and that includes dinner and a shower." She lists off as she keeps direct eye contact with me. Making me unbearably uncomfortable.

"Umm, yeah here's the coins." I say regretting that they aren't real.

"Ok thank you!" She says smiling as she takes them and puts them in the box underneath the counter. "Can I have a name for the room?"

"Yeah it's Lilith Ast-." I almost said my last name, I can't let her know my heritage.

"What was that?" She asked "I got Lilith and then Ast."

"Oh sorry it's Lilith Astrea." I make up on the spot.

"Ok Lilith! I'm Lila Starling. Here's your key. Would you like me to show you to your room? It's pretty late so we have stopped serving dinner, but I can get you something to eat if you would like."

She hands me a brass key that has a tag on it that reads 4. I guess that's my room number.

"So is there anything I can do for you?" She asks in that wonderful cheerey tone.

"Um yeah is there anything I could grab to eat?" I say cautiously.

"Of course! I can get you a salad. Would you like fruit or greens?" She says not waiting a beat.

"Um I'll do greens, and is there anything I can get for Sperantia?" I ask noticing that she had landed on my shoulder to rest.

"Yes I'll bring up some seeds for her! Do you need me to show you your room?" She questions. The smile is still shining brightly on her face.

"Uh no but thank you." I say as I step away and towards the sign that hangs above the doorway. It read

Rooms

"Alright Sperantia we've eaten and showered, so now it's time for bed."
Sperantia cherps happily.
"It was awfully nice of Lila to give you a box nest."
*Cherp*
I laugh as Sperantia lays down in her box nest and closes her eyes.
I start to think to myself as I watch Sperantia sleep.

Talking with people has never been my strong suit. I prefer to stay in the corner of the room away from the chaos curled up reading a book or talking with a plant or animal. My parents used to say that I'm the most introverted person in the world. But when I'm around her. I feel like I can be brave enough to help my family. I want this girl to talk forever and never stop. I-I- Crap. I think I'm in love...

I look at the ceiling and sigh knowing that what I want can never happen. I guess it's time for bed. I'll think about that tomorrow. I curl up in the comfort of a warm, soft bed and drift off to sleep.
